That's why I could never live in a big city......(don't want to live in any city limits, for that matter)...

My current town has 5200 residents spread over 55 sq miles.  My last about 4900 and the two previous about 10K.  Only one had a paid Fire Chief.

All volunteer fire house here right down the street, Town Hall next door to my house and our only constable, a CT State Trooper about 100 feet from my front door.

I feel smothered here, might have to move to the country!

I live in the "suburbs" (about 1.5 miles out) of a town of around 750 people.

you know its funny, I like being out in the country, but I hate having to do yard work.

Paving 25 acres gets pretty pricy.

There is a reason why our side yard is all asphalt grindings, and are back yard is covered in black plastic...

Hell, we only have about 15 acres to mow............

my dad has a half of all grass it takes him 2 hours to mow on a riding lawn mower.  I tried to tell him up front...

Low bush blueberries, Flox, or some other naturally low growing ground cover. Or seed it with wild flower mix, not only does it look nice, but the mix means you have color from Spring through fall.
