While I agree that Snopes is not trustworthy, ( I didn't know about the Soros money ) They will take one detail such as "I got this from so and so" and use it to discredit an entire item which is actually true.
That being said, the fact that Elana Kagan's name was on the docket is not exactly a "Smoking gun" of any wrong doing.
As the article stated, she was Solicitor General,  in effect, the head of the "law firm" that represents the Government.
It does not mean that she specifically has anything to do with a particular case, any more than you dealing with the Senior partner of your lawyers firm, they have a bunch of lawyers on the staff.

The Principal Deputy currently is Neal Katyal. The other deputies currently are Michael Dreeben, Edwin Kneedler, and Malcolm Stewart.

The Solicitor General or one of the deputies typically argues the most important cases in the Supreme Court. Cases not argued by the Solicitor General may be argued by one of the assistants or another government attorney.

Anything, or anyone for that matter, that is infected with a single dime of Soros money is going to be off the rails slanted left, and therefore totally unreliable in most anything they print. Snopes has for years been covering up Hussein's crap like a cat in a box. I suspect now, with Soros's vision of a socialist America fast falling apart, it will get worse. I will not venture an opinion as to Snopes credibility. Just because you raise money from someone doesn't mean you know or endorse those views (I speak from the experience of a lot of university fundraising dinners. We don't run background checks, we just thank them for their support. Every non-profit in the world does the same.). This "smoking gun" is partly BS. As Tom said the SG is the government's lawyer. They have to take their side. Does every criminal defense/divorce/civil attorney think their client is in the right? No. That's not their job. They just argue the case. I'm not a Kagan fan. I just think this might be a tempest in a te pot.

If Snopes is receiving Soros funding, which it is, it cannot be trusted to be correct on anything involving negative press on Hussein. Everything Soros touches slants left. Way left. I personally don't care about the Kagen story. Finding out about the George Soros financial connection was enough for me.   Bill T.
