WH Advisor David Plouffe Confirms Obama Will Address Gun Control At A Later Date

White House senior advisor David Plouffe appeared with Brian Williams on NBC after the State of the Union and made more news with what was left out of the speech than with what was included in it. Responding to criticism that President Obama did not include any mention of gun control in the speech, Plouffe confirmed earlier indications that Obama will address guns separately, at a later time.

Plouffe suggested that the State of the Union address needed to focus on the economy, however soon the President will tackle the gun issue. He did mention that the President supports reinstating the ban on assault weapons, but gave no further indication if any other gun control measures might be sought. “It’s a very important issue and I know there’s going to be a lot of debate on the Hill,” Plouffe predicted.

The most Left Leaning President in History is now going to take on Gun Control.
I still believe this President is currently more concerned with his Poll numbers, Damage control and his place in the History books than on the safety of this nations population.   
This administration is deluded by their so called accomplisments during congresses last session.  Believing they accomplished so much of the Peoples Will when in fact they used the lame duck session as an excuse to Railroad unpopular legislation through just to further their own Liberal agendas.
As Darth Rahm stated in the past..."Never fail to take advantage of a good trajedy." and Obama is now attempting to save face with his more Liberal constituency by doing just that.

I was happy to see that Congress Woman Giffords condition has been up graded over the last few days....and I have to wonder now if Gabrielle Giffords was physically able to address the country....have her personal views on the 2nd Amendment and citizens owning firearms changed after the senseless actions of this obviously  mentally deranged individual?   

If we take at face value what her colleges on both sides of the Congressional Aisle say of her...Then I have to believe that she would be against any more future restrictive Firearm's Legislation and in favor of concentrating more on enforcing the laws currently on the books.

Its BOs funeral if he does this. The thing is, the nation isn't interested in social issues right now. Other than the usual suspects, who is concerned about guns, gays, abortion or pot? The GOP is poised to make a similar error here in Florida. They want to push for more abortion restrictions. I would bet serious money that you would look long and hard to find many Republican voters in this past election who would have said abortion was their main issue. Its the same for the Dems on guns. To quote Mr. Carville, its the economy stupid. Anything else is going to annoy voters if it takes center stage.  If BO wants to waste political capital on this its his call, but it seems about as smart as Clinton taking on gays in the military, and then basically losing on the issue with Don't Ask Don't Tell pissing everyone off, and distracting from his core issue. Worst case for us, MAYBE a return to Clinton mags, but even here, I have a hard time seeing it get through a GOP House (Hope you're listening Boehner). I don't see many surviving Red State Dems wanting to go home and have to deal with the issue either. They all want to go home and talk about spending cuts, jobs, debt reduction, jobs, and oh yeah, jobs. If BO is smart, this speech will be at a universty somewhere not a national adress. But then again, maybe he isn't so smart. Still,he has got to be survivor enough to know that the far left of his party cost him more votes than it gained in 2010 and there is little to suggest that will change in 2012. But, there I go again, trying to apply logic to politics.

They don't care about his "funeral."  They are looking at the big picture, and they are looking at sacrifices and acceptable loss to get it done.  They will do a little here, take a little there, they will let Pres. BHO be a one termer, and they will move forward where ever they can.  They already have the Republican Party split between traditional and Tea Party, so they can lose BHO and still win, because we will split the ticket.

Even though we notice the knee jerk, fast action policy making to score political points.  Most operatives have learned the value of the long slow baby steps to get lasting change.  It is the pot full of frogs theory come to life!

We need to dig in, fight hard, and not give an inch.  The NRA is already being blamed for not giving, so it is time for the NRA, every other organization and every true American (not just gun owners) to stand strong and live up to what NRA is being accused of.  No more ground will be given!

Yep...I for one am pretty much tired of being talked at and not to by the current President.  Or is it "too"?  Never did get that particular grammar rule down pat...
