The Wolf, smoked more, smelled funny, but functioned for 30rds. (I have never been a fan of Wolf ammo. My Sig556 just won't cycle it, as if it's not got enough ass to get the Sig bolt far enough back to pick up the next rd.).

I know it works great in other folks AR's. So hey, not a big deal. I just wanted to throw a smorgasboard of mags and ammo through it, to see what worked,...Thankfully, it all did.

Perhaps the Daniel Defense BCG has more "meat" on it to cycle Wolf..

Either way. Total rd. count was 210 rds. 7 different mag rotations, with several different rds. The Silver Bears are actually very good rds. My Sig loves em' also.

I don't think Wolf coats their rds. with that sticky polymer crap anymore like they used to, I might be wrong, but  thought they stopped doing that.

Get the Miculek comp. for $30 at CheaperThanDirt. It's well worth it, with the Ergo Grip. What a difference.

My general rule is a full auto BCG and a H1 buffer from a 16" carbine length system will shoot everything. If you've got a 14.5" barrel go to the H2 buffer. I've got a 14.5" barrel with a mid-length gas system. It has the port opened a little over factory and runs a H3 buffer. 100% reliable. That's the great thing about the AR platform, a little tweak in the buffer, spring, gas port etc. and you can make them run 100% on just about any ammo. If you shoot much steel case make sure you have the extractor upgrade (really you should do this regardless considering how cheap it is) and just keep an eye on your bolt face and feedramps. The wolf stuff actually has the polymer lube that does a decent job but the bear steel case stuff can eat up a bolt and feedramps, especially if you have regular rifle and not M4 ramps.

Thanks bafsu, I paid extra for the extended M4 ramps, will get the extractor upgrade kit from Brownells, (+/- $12.00), I have a spare complete BCG, and charging handle, and soon will order another complete lower parts kit, just to have a complete set of parts, (in case).

Trying to start thinking about spare parts, and getting them. I'll stick to non-Wolf ammo for me, but it's good to know it will function, if needed.

The Hydraulic Buffer from Enidine,(on order) will make it work even better, or I'll save it for the next build.

The bear stuff states it zinc-coated brass (silver bear), I think the brown bear is steel.

Yes it's the brown bear stuff I was referring too, I'd avoid that or much of it. I found if you get one of the real small fishing tackle cases, they're like 6X4X3 and have snap down lids with adjustable trays on both sides, like $5 at WalMart you can make a nice spare parts kit that's very portable. Buying an extra lower kit isn't a bad idea so you have a spare one of everything but some stuff you'll probably never use the spare, like the mag catch or bolt stop where it's not a bad idea to keep 3 or more of every detent, spring and pin, those are the things you lose at the worst times. Keep the small tackle box, springs and little parts are very cheap from Palmetto State Armory, most under $1 ea. I can't tell you how nice it is having that little box with all your small spares, a couple allen wrenches in common rifle sizes (like MBUIS etc.) and 1 or 2 magpul dummy rounds, they have lots of uses, punch etc. It slips right into one of the outside pockets on most tactical rifle cases. I've made lots of friends at the range by having a spare________ you name the little part. I couldn't tell you the times I could've sold a $1 spring for $20 if I was that type of person but I've made some good friends by giving away a $1 spring to a stranger at the right time.  Just remember on the tiny parts that like to fly away under spring pressure the old 1 is none and 2 is 1 rule really applies here.
