My Dad
« on: February 02, 2011, 04:45:35 PM »
My dad (91) had a minor heart attack, then fell in the bathroom and brook his hip.  (My wife and I also think he had a minor stroke because he's slurring his speech just a tad)

He's in Dr Hospital in Sarasota and Kitty and I drove down from Marietta last night.  He looks weak.  The hip isn't a big deal.  But being healthy/strong enough for them to operate may be a problem.

We're staying down through Saturday and taking over his finances and cleaning out his house.  When he gets out of rehab in ~6weeks we're moving him to be with us in Ga.

Keep us in your thoughts and prayers

Haz and Peg:  Sorry I didn't stop on the way by.  I did wave.

Also, Dad has no internet access, so I have to go to Starbucks to get connected and may only be on for a limited time.

Alf

Will be prayin'

We have a similar thing here, and I hope yours goes as well.  It is so much easier when they make the decision on "their own" so you don't have to force it.  Hope he is on the same page as you and understands.

Prayers with your dad and you and the family, Alf.

I thought I heard a round ricochet off the mailbox.  ;)
"I expect perdition, I always have. I keep this building at my back, and several guns handy, in case perdition arrives in a form that's susceptible to bullets. I expect it will come in the disease form, though. I'm susceptible to diseases, and you can't shoot a damned disease." ~ Judge Roy Bean, Streets of Laredo

To them nothing comes before the Constitution of these United States of America. For this we are all labeled potential terrorists. ~ Dean Garrison

Sorry to hear this.  God Bless on a quick recovery and good luck with the move.

My advice is to get him out of the hospital as soon as reasonably possible.  The longer he's there, the more chance for other problems.
