Caracal
« on: March 02, 2008, 01:06:03 PM »
I'm over in the gulf for a while and got to handle one of these today.
Very nice tigger with short reset.
Sorry but was nicer than my M&P and Glock. Very slim grip.
It passed the NATO testing and reminds me of the Styer series. It has a smaller double stack grip than my G-19.

Weird sight, the rear sight is in front of the ejection port and there is a milled grove to the high vis front sight. The operations manager told me night sights are also available. I could rack the slide on my belt one handed for emergency reloads.

I asked but they won't be available in US till next year. I have no clue on cost.

Hey Ratcather55,
Keep your head down over there. Same rules apply as in Nam. Some things never change. Now get that fine looking piece of work out there and shoot it and let us know all about it. It looks really sweet. If the price is right, I'll have one if they ever get over here to the conus.

Cheers,

Thanks to all but I'm just doing some training and base inspections. Threat level is low and I should be out in less than 10 days. My head is on a swivel normally so I'm OK.

I did get to shoot the 9x19 in the full size and handled the compact.
They need to start thinking about holsters because what I saw was not going to cut it in the US.

I did see an Armoured Rolls Royce. The security officer said it cost $1.4 million US.

If their paying $1.4 mil for a car they can probably afford to import our holsters, Buy stock in Kydex ! ;D

Thanks for the report Ratcatcher! Hopefully when they get around to importing it they will not have to come in with 10 (or less :'()rounds in magazine capacity.
