It's been an ugly winter.

70 degrees and sunny yesterday....played golf.
Greens were in terrible shape due to the last freeze.

I'm sure you guys feel my pain.

You poor bastard.   ;D

My wife was in the other room complaining about the cold.  I (not hearing her well) said, "Talk louder."

Not good.

I need a heated doghouse.
"Why are you carrying a pistol?  Expecting trouble?"

"No Maam.  If I was expecting trouble, I'd have a rifle."

Suck it up woman!

It was 25 here on Saturday which meant that we got another six inches.  It held twenties through Sunday with a south wind moving all that snow north.  Sunday night the temps started dropping until they went below zero about 6:30 Monday morning when we started moving all that snow south again.  We have not seen zero since Monday morning, and Saturday seems a looooooooong way off.

+1 on the "Suck it up Woman!"

Not that it matters as I have no children in the system anymore but, most school districts in the state here haven't had a full week of school since January 1, 2011.  These poor kids will be canceling their Easter vacations and working well into June to finish the requisite 180 days of instruction.  We STILL have schools trying to clear their roofs of nearly four feet of snow.  Lots of collapsed roofs here in the Northeast.

It ain't over till it's over.....I was in Northern MA on the weekend and I've not seen that much standing snow in all the years I've live in the area.  The snow in my SIL's yards was nearly chest deep.  We cleared off her roof and my other SIL's the same morning.

No sympathy M'ette. The who don't get it, "don't get it".
And the ones who do get it mostly have far more than that little dusting you're whining about.
47 inches of snowfall here since Christmas, and it's only been above 25 twice.    ;D

My sedan was FINALLY released from the drift of snow resting on it over the weekend.  Our temps hit 40 on Saturday and Sunday and the snow melted to the point I could drive it out of the pile.  I hadn't seen it since the first week of January.  Been driving my 2WD Ranger pickup since then.

I'd forgotten how much FUN a rear wheel, 2WD vehicle could be in the winter!

 ;D

But I never got stuck... ;)  Four wheel drive is for wussies.......

Good SNOW tires, and a little common sense. Every one I have helped push has had "All season" tires.

Funny true story.
We have so much snow up here an airplane got stuck last Saturday.  ;D
Every year they plow out a runway on the lake. Last Saturday a plane came into land, but we had gotten 18 inches of new snow last week, they had not plowed the runway since they were busy getting the streets cleared. Even with the balloon tires he sank in and nosed over. Then because none of the snowmobilers came near him he had to walk a couple miles to a phone. No injuries but he smashed the prop.

I have all season on both cars.  Most people, though there are exceptions, don't understand that a rotating mass, has no control if it's STOPPED!  If you're in a skid, STAY OFF THE BRAKES and allow the tires to do their jobs.  Steer into the skid, stay off the brakes and know that, anti-lock is a mechanical solution to human error that may not work.

We have driving schools here in the NE that teach the same things my Father taught me years ago.
