Latest email from that wacky Brady Bunch

Got this one yesterday afternoon..........................

Quote
E-mail Your U.S. Rep. Today: Ban Large Capacity Ammo Magazines
Help Us Get 100 Co-Sponsors by Presidents' Day, February 21.

Dear Tom,

H.R. 308, our bill to ban large capacity ammunition magazines, like the one used by the Tucson shooter, is gaining momentum. The legislation, introduced only three weeks ago, already has 80 co-sponsors in the U.S. House of Representatives.

But your U.S. Representative has not yet signed on. E-mail Rep. Steve King today and help us keep the momentum going! Help us reach our goal of 100 co-sponsors by February 21.

"Please co-sponsor H.R. 308. Ban large capacity ammunition magazines like the one used by the Tucson shooter."

It's time to ban these people-killing ammunition magazines once and for all.

These magazines can hold 30, 50, or even 100 rounds, enabling shooters to injure or kill many people in seconds before needing to reload.

Congress won't act unless they hear from you. It is critical that you e-mail your U.S. Representative now in order to help prevent another tragedy.

The Tucson shooter was able to fire 32 shots in rapid succession with one magazine, hitting 19 people... in a matter of seconds.

Please act today and forward this e-mail to your family and friends!

Sincerely,

Paul Helmke, President
Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence

They even included a helpful link to email my local Congress Critter, so I used it to urge him to vote no on this, and any other, gun control measures that might come up.   ;D
I love waking up every morning knowing that Donald Trump is President!!

Mine haven't killed anyone, just targets......must be defective.
You can say lots of bad things about pedophiles; but at least they drive slowly past schools.

Went to Govtrack this morning and checked these (HR 308 and S 32) out.  Representative Walz (D) has been pro Second Amendment, and his name is not on the co-sponsor list, but in the Senate Franken (A-hole) is.

I am sending off email and postcard to both today.

We need to make sure that these "common sense" restrictive attacks on the tool do not pass!  If they would spend half the time, energy and resources that they spend on this type of legislation on addressing the real causes of violence we would live in a nation of peace with all the Rights our founding fathers were attempting to protect.
If I appear taller than other men it is because I am standing on the shoulders of others.

Good post M58. I hope others do likewise. Fortunately both my senators are agin it (at least thus far), but "my" rep, Alcee Hastings, thinks its a great idea. The bastard should be in jail for taking bribes as a judge, not casting votes in same House of Represntatives that impeached his sorry ass, but that's South Florida politics for you. (And will someone please explain to me why black voters never hold corrupt black office holders to account? I mean, there are plenty of honest black pols to take their place, but kicking the bum to the curb seems to be something black voters refuse to do.):P Anyway, what we need to worry about here is the FUDDS. "I own guns and hunt, but never saw the reason for a thirty round mag" types. Those "allies" are the one who cam screw us.

Only sponsor from Ohio is Rep. Betty Sutton (D) District 13.  She sponsors HR 308.

You can find some info for her here.  http://www.govtrack.us/congress/person.xpd?id=412228

District 13 is SW of Cleveland and stretches from Lake Erie  near Lorain running SE almost to North Canton.

The map can be seen here.  http://www.govtrack.us/congress/findyourreps.xpd?state=OH&district=13

Any of our members in Ohio up that way might want to let her know you'd like her to change her position.
