Always enjoyed listening to Herman Cain.  Soundbite and full speech at link.

Cain, as well as Allen West's speech were very good to hear.

Gee, two intelligent Tea Party Conservative African Americans.......But I thought the Tea Party and the GOP were racist, bigots?

(sarcasm added).. ::)

Thomas Jefferson: The strongest reason for the people to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against the tyranny of government. That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."
Col. Jeff Cooper.

I have the deepest respect for Herman Cain, both as a businessman and as a conservative.  He cannot have the distinction of being our first black prez, but he just could be the first SUCCESSFUL one.  His entire speech is less than half-an-hour and every minute of it is exceptional.

I just pray that God gives him the strength of ten men to withstand the msm onslaught that is to come if and when his message begins to resonate with America.

I could vote for him in a heartbeat.
“I’ve lived the literal meaning of the ‘land of the free’ and ‘home of the brave.’ It’s not corny for me. I feel it in my heart. I feel it in my chest. Even at a ball game, when someone talks during the anthem or doesn’t take off his hat, it pisses me off. I’m not one to be quiet about it, either.”  Chris Kyle

Yeah, he could since the current guy is technically a mulatto.  Oh, wait.  I forgot.  Bill Clinton was our first black president.  Never mind.

In all honesty, I care about his skin color about as much as I care about what kind of underwear he wears.

Never heard of the guy before reading this thread. Still, I listened to the whole speech and I liked it. Sadly though, I think it will be a long time before America votes again for an inexperienced black guy who can give a good speech. :-[ That said, I like him a whole lot better than Mitt Romney. Here's hoping the GOP does a better job of choosing a candidate in 2012 than they did in '08.

I wouldn't bet the farm on that FQ. Until the Tea Party either garners control over the GOP or simply breaks away from them all together, you will never see a strong republican candidate. Just the same good ol' boys. This is why the GOP has lost so much power over the years, ever since Reagan they won't stand behind their best and brightest. Even going so far as to throw their own under the bus. (Palin) I firmly believe the The GOP could have won the presidency in '08, but when the McCain people started tearing apart Palin in the middle of the campaign it was inevitable that they would lose. I can't tell you what they were thinking. But they punted it in the last election.  ::)

I'm with JC, the people they are talking about up here for the first in the nation primary basically suck.
Trump, Romney, Huckabee. Even Palin gets no mention. Ron Paul won the CPAC straw poll, but by one % point than last time he barely made the ballot. I fear the Dems will get the next election handed to them on a platter just like they did the last one.  >:(

Tom, it'd help a lot if the entire country got an equal say in the primary.  Most of the early primaries are concentrated in Ohio and New England.  By the time the primaries get to the south and the west, some of the candidates that those areas would've favored (e.g. Fred Thompson) have dropped out because they haven't won after 3 of 4 primaries and their funds are dropping off.  The only remedy is to have a nationwide primary day.

I agree, though.  I'm not excited about any of the above.  Too much recycling of what we're not looking for.  Look at the bright side, though.  12 years of Republican persistence got us Nixon.

I think the Iranians would like him better. :P The guy is so far to right on social issues its not funny. He may be right wing, but a small government individual freedom sort he is most certainely not.
