An herbal store clerk in Mattapan shot and wounded an alleged robber who had threatened him with a hammer last night.

Police said Raymond Sims, 47, is in serious condition at Boston Medical Center and is expected to survive after the shooting at Essential Body Herbs at 1282 Blue Hill Ave.

Sims is expected to be charged as an armed career criminal in connection with the attempted robbery, Boston police spokeswoman Elaine Driscoll said. She said Sims is known to police.

The shooting occurred shortly after 7 p.m. last night. Suffolk District Daniel F. Conley's office is probing the incident to determine the circumstances surround the shooting and whether it was justified.

Police said the clerk did have a license to carry the firearm. He was not injured.

Assholes from Boston are Irish and Italian. Roxbury, Matapan, Dorchester,  weren't settled from those 2 countries, Even the Irish don't breed THAT fast.

To hell with PC, Those 3 towns, and Jamaica Plain used to be divided between Irish, Italian, and Jews, working class or better, where people didn't bother locking they houses. then in the 50's and 60's they made them start letting blacks move in until they drove out any decent citizens.
