House Votes To Overthrow BHO's Czars

The House voted Thursday to dethrone nine White House “czars.”

Republicans successfully added an amendment to the continuing resolution that would leave President Barack Obama’s senior advisers on policy issues including health care, energy and others out of a job.

The vote was 249-179.

Rep. Steve Scalise (R-La.) offered the amendment that blocks funding for various policy advisers to combat what he called “a very disturbing proliferation of czars” under Obama.

“These unappointed, unaccountable people who are literally running a shadow government, heading up these little fiefdoms that nobody can really seem to identify where they are or what they’re doing,” Scalise said Thursday. “But we do know that they’re wielding vast amounts of power.”

The jobs on the chopping block: White House-appointed advisers on health care, energy and climate, green jobs, urban affairs, the closure of the Guantanamo Bay detention center, oversight of TARP executive compensation, diversity at the Federal Communications Commission and the auto industry manufacturing policy.

These so-called “czars” have been favorite targets of Republicans and conservative talk radio hosts, especially energy and climate adviser Carol Browner, who is leaving the administration.

“This is a person who’s continued to do things behind closed doors,” Scalise said of Browner.

GOP lawmakers assailed Browner’s office after a recent report showed that the White House rewrote crucial sections of an Interior Department report to suggest an independent group of scientists and engineers supported a six-month ban on offshore oil drilling.

More at link.   Let the Senate block it, let BHO veto it. Keep bringing it in their face every week. Make them (the socialist Libs) defend their agenda.

It's about effing time.  Get the czar-commies out of DC today, and get the devil himself out in 2012.

I'll bet it doesn't get past the Senate.
Nice thought though.

I agree.  This will get as much traction in the Senate as President Penis's impeachment trial did, and for the same uber-partisan reason.
I love waking up every morning knowing that Donald Trump is President!!

Why can no one seem to remember that Clinton was in fact convicted of one of the charges ?
He is the only US president to be successfully Impeached.
(Jackson beat all charges by one vote. (They had to carry the guy in on his sick bed, but he did not vote "present" )

Well it's all about 2012 now... Voters, and most/some of the electorate, at least the 13-20% that actually VOTE, are paying attention this time.

Make the Senate block it, make BHO veto it, make the Libs defend it. Make the Van Jones, Cass Susstien's be brought to light like roaches....

The Independents, and "better" informed voters will notice, and will help get rid of this scourge.

Lest We Forget.

November 2012 is not a very important election.
What really matters are the Republican primaries, and the nomination.
If they again settle for some chump like Romney, McCain or Trump then Obummer will win.

If they nominate an actual American REPUBLICAN   (the philosophy, not necessarily the Party  ) then BHO is a one termer.

It doesn't have to get past the Senate, Tom.  ALL spending bills originate in the House.  That's how the House can stop Odamna-care.  That's how they can stop this czar stupidity.  If the House doesn't vote on a spending bill--it ain't gonna be a bill.

My regret here is that while the House may "overthrow" the czars, they really should have a third-story or higher railing to throw them over.  Sheesh.  2012 cannot get here soon enough.

If we do not unite behind ONE generally acceptable candidate, and work for his (or her ) election, 2012 will be meaningless.
Allan West would be good, Herman Cain seems like a better choice since he already has money of his own to get started with.
Michelle Bachmann would be OK, but Sarah Palin, due to the polarization that surrounds her, is more helpful where she is now.
Rudy, Huckabee, Trump, and Romney are simply candidates for the dumbasses.

I can find nothing you've said with which to take issue.  Herman is fantastic.  Col. West is a hero.  Michelle seems to be headed down the Palin Path and I don't think she really has a chance.  Palin will rally the opposition like no one else can and become a footnote to history.  Mitt is unelectable as are Huck and Rudy.  The Donald is playing this for the free publicity and is not, IMHO, a serious candidate.

My concern with Herman or Col. West comes down to the race card.  Are Americans so fed up with the current black man in the WH that they won't elect another for a couple of generations?

That said, either Herman or the Col. would certainly get my vote.
