I am glad she didn't stand there with roller blades. She would have rolled down all the way to Oklahoma.

After the first shot, she almost disappeared from the viewer on the video camera.

I might upload a little clip, but first I need to evaluate my health insurance coverage.

Definitely edit the audio..  ;D
Actually I was rather shell-shocked and didn't say much until a little bit later, that couldn't be heard.. ( I think.... :-\ ??)
when the feeling started to come back in my hand.. THEN.. definitely if the camera had been going.. the sound would have to be totally deleted.. LOL..
We filmed all of us shooting something or other. Had about 25 guns out there, so we definitely burnt up some ammo. It was tons of fun. Then came back in to my oldest sons house and had a big party around a bonfire...hotdogs, cheese dip, chips ,beer,& whiskey
It just don't get better than that in a day..  ;)

Know the feeling. When I had my cattle ranch, something was out buggering the horses. I grabbed my shotgun and a few shells I had sitting there, chambered them up and went out to the porch. I was on the next to top step, racked the slide, and fired into some trees by my rifle range where I knew there would be no livestock. Damn gun almost blew me off the porch steps. I had grabbed magnum 12 gauge 00 by mistake - all I wanted to do was make noise.

I made a little noise that night too as I teetered on the porch step edge.

Here's a quick picture that I took Saturday of the 500 S&W
It's big and heavy. 2 shots was all I wanted.   :D

Marshal'ette, if you were comparing the 500 S&W caliber to a rifle round, in ft-lbs of energy, what would it be comparable to? What does your son use the revolver for? I have seen a couple of these at the local FFL, but with much longer barrels, which would be a hunting application I'm sure.    Thanks, Mac.

Well, the 45-70 is, I think comparable..even though I have never shot one, I have seen the cartridges in that rifle.
I actually l found out that one of those has 2237 pounds of energy...

The 500 S7W has 2578 pounds of energy.. so I guess that would be a good way to compare.
The 500 pistol has more power and punch than a 45-70 rifle.. ( and you will believe it when you pull the trigger. :o)
He shot it one handed and he said it hurt like hell. No way could I hang on to it with one hand.. and no one else has had the cahoona's  to try the one handed shot, but him  :)

It shoots a 5" group at 100 yards.. (Derek did that.. I didn't   ;)) so you CAN use it for hunting.
He bought it cause it was "the biggest and baddest pistol" ( unquote)  ;D and cause he loves guns and just wanted one to shoot for an oddity. He really said he should sell it cause the ammo is like Crazy EXPENSIVE, but he would actually like to shoot a hog with it..and may if they go this spring.
( I may tag along with them and video it if I have the time.. better yet, I will just go and shoot one myself.  That ought to be a hoot)

WOW!  5" groups at 100 yards with a 4" barrel!  :o

According to Federal Ballistics if you zero at 25 it will drop 3.5" at 100 and that's out of an 8.4" barrel.
