National Assosiation for Gun Rights Letter
« on: March 04, 2008, 11:22:46 AM »
 Dear friend,

Thank you for participating in the National Association for Gun Rights’ Presidential Survey and welcome to our team of grassroots gun rights activists!

If you haven’t visited our website yet (really, now it's YOUR website), please visit www.NationalGunRights.Org

Let me introduce myself: My name is Dudley Brown. I’m a 42 year old Coloradan, founder of Rocky Mountain Gun Owners (Colorado's largest and most effective pro-gun rights organization) and I’ve been a shooter and gun rights activist my entire life. While I really enjoy a spring day spent shooting firearms (including so-called "assault rifles" and various handguns) under blue Colorado skies, that activity doesn’t do anything to preserve my gun rights.

Maybe more importantly, it doesn’t do anything to preserve the right to keep and bear arms for my two young children.

That's why I've devoted the last fourteen years to building an army of no-compromise, rock-solid, pro-gun activists.

It hasn’t been easy. It took a decade to pass a concealed carry law in Colorado, and it still needs improving.

Even after the debacle of the Columbine Tragedy -- when every other “gun lobbyist” was cutting deals for gun control -- I held firm.

I drew a line in the sand, and told politicians (and their apologists) “Cross it if you dare.”

The effect was that even after Columbine, Colorado became more free for gun owners and joined the ranks of “shall issue” states for concealed carry. I am very proud of my work building Rocky Mountain Gun Owners, and that is why I leaped at the chance to become the Executive Director of the National Association for Gun Rights (NAGR). The National Association for Gun Rights is a team leader of state-level no-compromise organizations, all of whom work together to fight off the gun-grabbers and take back ground we’ve lost. Our coalition took the lead in beating off attempts to re-enact the Clinton Gun Ban in 2004 ... even as other Washington-based institutional gun lobby groups sought deals in Congress because they were afraid of bad press.

Our strategy at NAGR is simple: Activate the grassroots, and don’t give an inch.

That’s why I’m excited that you’ve joined our team. Because I’m guessing, like me, you have been frustrated by the compromises and poor strategy of the institutional gun lobby.

It seems too often we are told to settle for just not losing our guns all at once ... and yet, bit by bit, our freedom is chipped away.

Truthfully, that’s why I worked from the start with the National Association for Guns Rights.

You can count on the National Association for Gun Rights to give you the latest news on firearms issues, including tracking all federal firearms legislation and their up-to-the-minute status.

I know the ONLY way to preserve our gun rights is to act. That's why NAGR gets involved in local races exposing anti-gun candidates and seeking out the most solidly pro-gun candidates, stays on top of politicians by insisting they never give away our gun rights, and is building a movement with fellow Americans who absolutely, positively, will not -- under any circumstances -- compromise away our right to own and bear firearms.

And so I am grateful to welcome you to our number.

I’d also like to encourage you to take another bold step toward defending your freedom by making a donation to the National Association for Gun Rights. Whether you donate a large amount of $100 or more -- or if for you a contribution of just $15 or $25 is a step of faith -- every dollar will be carefully used only to defend your rights.

You can donate online through our secure credit card system at: https://gunrights.ejoinme.org/MyPages/DonationPage/tabid/18400/Default.aspx

Or

You can simply mail us a donation at:

National Association for Gun Rights
P.O. Box 7002
Fredericksburg, VA 22404-7002

Your donation of $100, $50 or even $25 or $15 will be used to active even more gun owners.

Any donation is gratefully accepted and even small contributions make a big difference.

That’s why I’m writing you this note. I want to encourage you to stay active in this crucial battle for freedom.

Take a look at our website (www.NationalGunRights.Org), which is updated on a daily basis and, if you believe our guns rights are as important as I do, please give a generous donation to the National Association for Gun Rights by going to: https://gunrights.ejoinme.org/MyPages/DonationPage/tabid/18400/Default.aspx

I look forward to working with you in the coming years as we stand shoulder-to-shoulder in the struggle for freedom and liberty.

For Freedom,

Dudley Brown
