I am seriously considering buying a Taurus 1911. One thing that I am curious about is the ability of the gun to accept aftermarket parts? Are the slides and frames of the Taurus 1911 pretty much standardized like the Springfield or Kimber in terms of accepting new bushings, springs, hammer, etc. For the price $565 at the local Gander Mountain, I could own it today, or I can wait a couple of months and buy a Springfield for $899.
