I stated the other day on the Gun, and chicken wings thread that maybe it's time to bring back the militia.
Of course someone is going to pounce on me because modern political correctness says that militia is a bad word.
However when did it change? Militia is simply an armed and organized group of non professional soldiers (citizens) who volunteer to defend their home. Why would anyone (other that the fed.gov) fear that?
I have read the militia oath, they are all about defending the constitution of both the state, and the U.S. The see their role as defensive. I think it's time we start these back up again. After all, BHO said that we should have a civilian force "just as powerful, and just as well funded as the U.S. military."
While I know this is not what he had in mind. I will twist his vision and agree with this sentiment with enthusiasm.
