I encourage anyone who wants an excellent discussion of Islam and its rise on current world affairs to rent or buy this DVD. I rented it off of iTunes and it's about 2.5 hours long; yes, Quaker you're going to have to sit through the entire thing....The documentary starts out with the birth of Islam and how some words that we take to mean one thing are totally different to the mind of Muslims. For example, in the West we think of peace as a reconciliation or absence hostility. To a Muslim peace simply means a truce.
Watch the video because the distinctions like I wrote about are brought out and it will help us here in the West understand what they really mean when they talk about a "peace with justice." I think this video is must-see for anyone who wants a very good understanding of the mid-East conflict.
