Of burglars and 84 year-old ladies

Title of the video says she shot the intruder, but the report says she shot at him and scared him off.

I was more surprised at what the cop said about owning a gun and such.

he is a idiot, you can NOT use your gun to protect your property in CA, doing so will get you in deep shit.
I always break all the clay pigeons,  some times its even with lead.

Thought that also......but was not 100% sure if it was defined in CA law (it is defined in some states).

It's called the Castle Doctrine TAB,....many states have it.

You retire for the night, and about an hour later your door is kicked in. WTF do you know about the intruders?

They just want your property? So it's all good NOT to shoot them?,...I can get another DVD player, and some knick-knacks?

What a surrender mentality. We here at DRTV, know you better than that,...and know you would defend yourself.

Regardless of California law. Your door gets kicked in, the BG's get what they deserve.

you can only use deadly force in CA if you are in fear of your life/great bodly harm or you fear for some one elses life/bodly harm.

its up to the DA to prove that you were not in fear for your life.  That being said, if my door gets kicked in, I am in fear for my life and those of my family.

What TAB says is true, (Remember, it's Ca. no castle doctrine )
BUT, What he added at the end is generally accepted as a defense, there was a case just like this in Oakland when I was out there.

SD in CA is actually very good and its been that way for decades.

Whether the cop was an idiot or not, I like his take on defending ones home and property.

If his attitude were held by the majority of residents who where not reluctant to express those beliefs, I'd bet the anti-gun laws in CA would be reduced.
