Looking to buy a good overall defence gun. Have looked into glock 17/19, smith and wesson mp, springfield xd's and the ruger sr9.Dont want to pay a arm and a leg just want idea of what people are carrying these days.Any idea's or opions would be very helpful.

- What is your level of experience with firearms?
- What is your home like - an apartment with mostly drywall construction? single family house built of brick? multiple floors?
- Is there more than one person who will have access to the weapon? Their level of experience?
- Do you have children? Their ages?
- What kind of budget do you have?
