I think it was optics planet .com,...

How is the build coming along?

The build is progressing at a snail's pace, I'm still at the parts gathering stage - scrounging as much as I can from others 'scrap boxes' :) waiting for a Delta ring tool to arrive and trying to build up the courage to remove the front sight tower from my DelTon to replace it with one of the aforementioned scrounged multirail gas blocks  :-\
The sight system I saw had (I think) both front & rear  on a single picatinny rail giving a very short sight plane and was only recommended for up to about 50yds..............maybe I dreamt it :-[

OK, I guess this was it:

http://www.brownells.com/1/1/42602-ar-15-short-range-tactical-sight-jp-srts-short-range-sight-j-p-enterprises.html

Not fibre optic at all, just multi colour poly options for the front  :-[

Soooooooooo, if any of you would like to start manufacturing 6", 1 piece, low profile, fiber optic sights for a picatinny rail - I'll be happy to be your only customer  :)

I know I am considering an offset 45 degree slant angle mount for some form of truglo style BU sight.

http://www.bravocompanyusa.com/Yankee-Hill-Machine-9691A-5-Slot-Angle-Riser-p/yhm%209691a%205slot%20angle%20riser.htm

Either for a light, laser, or Bushmaster had a great package for offset BUIS that were fiber optic, or tritium night options.

Held one at the NRA show last May, It's amazing how easily functional an AR is if a primary optic fails, and one has to "cant" the rifle to utilize an offset sighting option.

Lots of options Bic, I'm sure the "scrounging" will be to your advantage of a great build.

Scrounging worked very well for Tuco,.... ::)

Uh, this sounds a whole lot like an eotech. A quick, low light, short radius sight that's good to about 100 meters. Buy one, you'll thank me for the recomendation. As far as batteries, I am 18 months into owning one and still on my first set of 2AAs (I turn t off when not in use). The batteres are common as dirt and you can stick an extra set in your gear and not even notice they are there. FWIW.

OK - I attended the new San Antonio Guns Show last weekend and was able to buy some more gear for this new rifle.
Using a DPMS parts kit the 'build' went OK, kinda. The mag latch was a BITCH to fit  >:( requiring much filing on it's upper and lower surface before it came close to fitting in it's 'ole and those trigger guard roll pins don't exactly slide in do they?! - everything else was easy enough and I somehow ended up with a really good trigger pull  :o.
I also purchased a DPMS quad rail upper complete with BUIS's and the LW contour barrel that I wanted, everything has now been suitably torn apart and stirred and mixed with the components of my existing HB (.750 DelTon ) and I have the LW 'truck gun' I wanted:

and an almost complete lower
just requiring a'target/tactical' style stock (recommendations?)

I love my PRS.  Although I haven't bought an upper for this lower yet.

And it has a trigger now.  The trigger was at Bill Springfield's place getting worked over.

Yeah those are way cool, I may just have to put an A2 on it and save up for the Magpul like yours.

VLTOR's are not too pricey,... :-\ +/- $100. I put one on mine. There is a MAGPUL Stock for $79 at Brownells, does not come with tube but those should be easily accessible.  bravocompanyusa.com also carries the adjustable version.

FWIW, ditch the A2 grip and get the Falcon Industry Ergo Grip. brownells, has them. Even in camo. (Unless you particularly like the grip)....

Nothing like a fine mallet to get those TG pins in. I went the oversize MAGPUL version,...only one pin,...$12.00

Coming right along Bic. Should turn out great for you.
