Suarez International
« on: March 07, 2008, 06:50:27 AM »
I've been getting the newsletter from Suarez International for several months now and they seem to make a lot of sense.  Certainly far different than we have always believed to be the correct way to train.  His stance on the correct rifle to own (AK47) also seems to make sense.
Before I buy his CD's, I'd like to hear from this group.

I've trained with Gabe, the Force on Force class. I bought 3 of his DVDs, FoF, Close Range Gunfighting and Advanced Close Range Gunfighting. Recommended if you want to learn how to kill people.

Don, Interesting way to put it.  I guess we need to learn to say that instead of trying to be politically correct, which of course we never will be no matter how we try.
Yes, I want to learn how to kill people.

I carry a gun so I can kill people...those people who would attack me and do me harm. If one carries a gun, one must be able and WILLING to take the life of another human being. If not, one should re-think their position.

DW,

That is what I meant by 'when necessary'.  We do not (IMO) need to learn to 'kill people' as we did in the military (ie hunt them down).

We need to kill people when necessary and be able to stay alive.

We need to kill people when necessary and be able to stay alive.

My understanding from watching and reading folks like Mas Ayoob is that when we carry we are not trying to kill people, we are trying to stop them. Apparently, or so I'm told, it makes a difference between walking free and going to jail yourself.

Anyone know of this?

I have some books on order from Cooper et al. to keep studying.
"I won't be wronged, I won't be insulted, I won't be laid a hand on. I don't do this to others and I require the same from them"

Correct Pathfinder. You never say you shot to kill the attacker. You say I shot to stop the attacker. However you did kill him...just in self-defense.
