Nice family of wheelguns. How do you get them to reproduce? 

Must be "in the light of day."  Normally we think in the dark, so we leave them in the safe.  But our furry little alien takes them out to the range, and the next thing you know he has another one

By becoming quite brash actually.  "Hey cute thang, wanna........uh dance?"     

I've gotten to where I don't hesitate to make low offers.  Most of the time I'm shot down or they just don't respond.  But sometimes you hit the jackpot.  I also troll the real auctions.   I've got two pre-bids in for an auction this Saturday.   There'll be heck to pay "She Who Must Be Obeyed", if I win, but since she likes bargains, it's my ace-in-the-hole.   

I just emailed an on-line dealer to tell him the gun he was trying to sell for $799 is subject to a safety recall AND now that he know that he needs to disclose it to any perspective buyer.....oh and I'll buy it for $350 as-is.

But basically, I've become addicted to stainless, pre-2000 Smith big bore revolvers.  624, 625, 629 and 686.   Can't get enough of them.   





Need more money, for more reloading supplies, for more ammo.  Must have more!  Me precious.

I love my Model 66.   I only buy wheel guns from S&W. Sorry no autos the 4506 turned me off to their bottom feeders but their wheel guns are great.

All of these guns are pre 90's models. Most were purchased in the early 80's, some in the early 70's. The 6" 686 was the first gun Melanie ever bought me. We were dating just a couple of weeks in late 1983. I even ran into a couple of their better autos. A Model 52 .38 Wadcutter Target Model, & a Model 41 .22 L.R. with the bright blued finish. The Model 52 is unfired with the original box, extra magazine and papers. I got it when we moved out to Arizona from an employer who tried to screw me out of vacation pay I had coming. I didn't expect to get it, and when it came this small, little gun shop in Lake Havasu City, Arizona had these 2, nice S&W's just sitting there. Melanie said you didn't expect to get the money, so why not buy something you'll remember it for. So I did. Never looked back.  Bill T.

Bill, that 2-1/2" 686 really lights me up. Wife has a 4" and it's a really nice revolver. Is that one a 7 round or 6?

It's a standard 6 shot. I still carry it from time to time, but mostly I now rely on my Glocks for that job. I still love shooting it. It is amazing how tight it will group with that short barrel and great sights. I passed every CCW qualifying range test with it, as did Mel.  Bill T.

Those are all very beautiful, BIllt.   My collection pales, but I'm working on it, though I'm leaning towards all 6xx series.
