Mini-rustbuckets, corrupting the youth of America.
« on: March 26, 2011, 11:09:19 AM »
A tip for you 1911 guys. I was perusing my American Rifleman and noticed that Browning will be offering a smaller sized 1911 in .22. As much as I roll my eyes at the eleven thousand new 1911s that have come out, this is a neat idea. Corrupt them young, get your kid or grandkid hooked while they still think you're cool. ;D It didn't mention price, but I'm sure its going to be well made. Personally, I think its cool. Now if only Glock would follow suit. ;)

I haven't seen one yet, FQ, but around here (west of the Peoples Republic of Illinois) street price should be around $450-$475. according to Boddington in G&A it's a good gun and shoots well. I'll wait till I see one.

My Grandson is already hooked and has informed his Grandma that should anything happen to me she's not to sell anythng, he wants it all.

The big test will be how it cycles. The 1911 is a heavy slide. By down sizining they should hopefully have addressed this problem. One would hope that Browning would want to make sure that a limited edition centienial piece woud be bug free.

Actually I've seen a lot of 1911 22s recently. They run between $250 and $300 here.

Sorry guys, my bad! Looked something up and street price should be around $500-$525. Might be a bit less or more depending on where you are. In answer to the cycling thing according to Brownings catalog this thing is very light so sounds like is Aluminum so the slide should be light.

Pecos who needs new glasses.

Edit 3/28 looked this up in Brownings book and yes it is Aluminum but it come with a certificate of authenticity of first year production and a canvas and leather case. Don't that just make your whole day?
