Natchez is where generally find the best scope prices too.

I am hitting the big gun show in Tulsa this weekend for ammo.  If I can't get 5.56 green tip for less than $375, 5.56 55 gr fmj for less than $350 or 9mm less than $210 I'm going to mail order.  I'll be looking for 5.7x28, 45 and 50 BMG too.

I also found some of that "AR" 22 ammo that CCI makes at Natchez.  I hope to try it out this weekend and hope it is a lower cost alternative to CCI mini-mags so that the dang Sig Mosquito I have runs.  Natchez has the CCI subsonic with the copper coating to keep lead out of your cans and they are my source for the Federal EFMJ (expanding full metal jacket).

Those are some good prices for store bought.   The last time I purchased OTC it was around that price at Straight Shooters in Tampa.  3 years ago.

To bad AmmoEngine doesn't check J&G or AmmoToGo prices.   They're showing closer to 23cents/ea for something better than Blazer.


But, I just ordered 1,000 9mm bullets for 8.6cents/ea.   Throw in a nickle for powder and primer and my cost is around $140/1000.  That and I can load it to IPSC "minor" category.    Love reloading.

Where you gettin' yer bullets Alf? Are they jacketed?

Jaybet,  I'm moving away from plain lead bullets for health reasons.   I'm down to my last 500 9mm LRN. 

For lower velocity rounds, (9mm, 44spl, 45acp), I'm going with Berry's plated bullets.  Gives some protection for atomizing lead out the muzzle, but not as expensive as jacketed.   A real plus is that for must load with lead bullets you use the same load with plated!

For  higher speed stuff (.357mag and max) I use jacketed bullets from Magnus.  (Plus that's where I got my lead bullets as well.) They've always given me good deals direct and they ship flat rate USPS.  (You know those commercials, if it fits it ships?   70# all 50 states $14.95!)
