Did you miss Dept of Energy ? And Health and Human Services ?
Filling that role is why Churches are tax exempt.
While they are at it they can cut all non defense by 50%.

Dept. of Transportation. There is nothing that these clowns do that cannot be done better, faster, and less expensive by private companies.

I've often wondered about them. What do we need the government for to "transport" anything? I, along with most truck drivers and pilots, can travel without getting lost. And even if I did the government is the last place I'd look for directions. Hell, they can't even "transport" a letter without raising the price every fifteen minutes.  Bill T.

I have never agreed with the State Government Debit Card. Too easy to manipulate. But we are saving the trees by no longer making food stamps. Oh gee, plus the added humility of utilizing foodstamps in public?  No we cannot have that! B.S.

One of the setbacks of the welfare system is that it was supposed to be a temporary solution. People have found ways to manipulate the program and now the taxpayers are taking care of those who do not want to take care of themselves. B.S. in my opinion.

I think they should perform some community service for receiving our tax money. But no, that would also humiliate the receiver of welfare funds. B.S. Reminds me of the line from a Dire Straits song, "something for nothing".

Sorry folks, I have some strong opinions about this having grown up in two homes. One being on welfare (Mother) and the other one middle class (Father). It gave me the motivation to work hard, make the grade and go serve our Country to pay for my college. I knew I did not want to live off the State and still constantly strive to better myself.

People will continue to sit on their lazy asses and not become productive members of society as long as they are being spoon fed. I have ran into women/girls in my community that get pregnant so they can receive government handouts. Absolutely disgusts me.

The welfare system needs to be over hauled. New rules implemented and a time frame for benefits to be removed or revoked.

Sorry, I will get off my soapbox.

Gone is the best way. 

Let the local charities provide for those in true  need, for much less the cost and better long term results.  It will do more to encourage those who can start to provide for themselves to do so and those who can but won't will be a self eliminating problem in a month or so.

I believe local folks will support the charities that are doing a good job of helping those who need it and will dump the charities that fail.
