look at any state, you will find some strange laws.
I always break all the clay pigeons,  some times its even with lead.

Sometimes a specific case of a general law might be shown leading one to believe it is a ridiculous law over all.

For instance this example from Ohio.          It is illegal to fish for whales on Sunday.

Sounds like  the law makers must be smoking something to even think of enacting such a foolish law, particularly in Ohio.

However, it is not quite so unbelievable to still have a law prohibiting fishing on Sunday.  Some places got really vigorous with their Blue Laws.

Another example might be a law shown as      It is illegal to beat a stubborn mule on the city streets between 2 and 4 pm on weekdays.

This could simply be an ordinance prohibiting cruelty to animals or an ordinance prohibiting any draft animals on city streets at any time, thus having a mule on city streets is always illegal no matter what day of the week, time of day or the mule's disposition.

"Good intentions will always be pleaded for every assumption of authority. It is hardly too strong to say that the Constitution was made to guard the people against the dangers of good intentions. There are men in all ages who mean to govern well, but they mean to govern. They promise to be good masters, but they mean to be masters."

Tom.....give me another chance.

I haven't put a penny on the tracks in 45 years and haven't touched fireworks in 20 and haven't cheated on my fed tax for 3 years...and only a little bit on the sales tax thing anyway.

And I won't ever try to get that cat that sneaks into my garage out of my car again now that TAB has let me know it is a felony.  I'll just try harder to remember to keep the windows rolled up.

I promise.

Oh man, you mean you're even rusty on the railroad track thing ?
I'll have to think about it.   ;D

That site had at least one incorrect entry for NH, It said "It is illegal to take seaweed from the beach",
In fact, it is illegal to take seaweed from the State beach with out a permit. The State derives revenue from the sale for garden use that helps pay for beach maintainence. On private property it is the property of the owner and he can do as he pleases with it.

Trump: Obama wasn't qualified for Ivy League

NEW YORK – Real estate mogul Donald Trump suggested in an interview Monday that President Barack Obama had been a poor student who did not deserve to be admitted to the Ivy League universities he attended. Trump, who is mulling a bid for the Republican presidential nomination, offered no proof for his claim but said he would continue to press the matter as he has the legitimacy of the president's birth certificate.

"I heard he was a terrible student, terrible. How does a bad student go to Columbia and then to Harvard?" Trump said in an interview with The Associated Press. "I'm thinking about it, I'm certainly looking into it. Let him show his records."

Anybody want to bet on what Trumps report cards say? I'm betting not so good on the "works and plays well with others" line. ;D Seriously, what is Trump FOR? What is the platform? He's getting a lot of attention because of the celebrity. Great. Now use it to tell me what the first five things he'd do as President are. Until I hear that, color me unimpressed.

Yeah...it's like the old one about what you call a guy who graduated medical school with a 4.0 versus a guy who graduated with a 2.5.......you call them both doctor.

One thing is, if you're preparing to go under the knife you ask the surgeon if he has the proper credentials.
What would you do if he tells you that he does, but will not provide adequate proof of said credentials?

I agree with Ted more often than I disagree. Its his tone and style that sometimes rub me wrong, but honestly? I'd love to go hunting with him and I do trust the guy. Vote for him? No. But I'd sure buy him a beer. ;D
