Trump's mind made up on presidential runDONALD Trump's bid for the Republican presidential nomination took another step toward reality today, as the developer-turned-reality-star said he had made up his mind on whether to run.The 64-year old hinted that he would be a candidate, saying he would have to wait to make any official pronouncements until after the Celebrity Apprentice finale airs on May 22."In my own mind, I think I've made a decision," Mr Trump told FOX News when asked when he would decide on entering the race.He quickly added another of his now-regular barbs at President Barack Obama, noting "this country is a disaster -- what Obama is doing to this country is a total and complete disaster".If Mr Trump announces his candidacy while his reality show is still on the air, he could run afoul of federal law mandating equal time for candidates on broadcast networks. As the suddenly-surging Mr Trump marched closer to a run, he also cast aside Republican strategy guru Karl Rove, beloved by many in the party for executing former President George W. Bush's successful 2000 and 2004 campaigns."Abraham Lincoln couldn't have beaten Obama or any other Democrat after what happened with Karl Rove," Mr Trump said.Mr Bush ended his time in office with a 34 per cent approval rating, below his 88 per cent high after the September 11, 2001, terror attacks, according to FOX News-Opinion Dynamics surveys."He gave Bush advice and look what happened... he doesn't have to give me advice," Mr Trump said.Mr Trump's frequent media interviews and attacks on Mr Obama have catapulted him to the front of the party's field for the nomination in several recent polls.
He'll make his anouncement after his reality show featuring D list celebrities ends? This is worse than Fred Thompson who left a safe Senate seat to return to "Law and Order", then expected to be taken seriously as a presidential candidate. On the other hand, two of the cast members of "Predator" became governors. FQ13
You're forgetting Gopher from "The Love Boat" and Cooter from "Dukes of Hazard". FQ13 who will join Crusader in weeping for this country. Memo to my fellow Americans: Just because someone is famous doesn't mean they are worth a damn.
Come on FQ we put Ronald Regan (sp) in the White House and Sonny Bono in Congress. Why not Trump?Pecos
FQ, I take exception to your jab at Fred Grandy. He was, without question, one of the best and most consistent Representatives my district has ever had. Gopher (the character) was, much like yourself, a bumbling buffoon who walked around with his foot in his mouth most of the time. Grandy had, and has, very little in common with the character he portrayed on TV.
FQ, I take offense at your jab at Fred Thompson, too! He may be a "neo-con", and THAT offends you, but how can you hold a vocation against someone! At the time, he chose what his wallet told his head! I believe he made the right decision, and I STILL think he'd make a great POTUS! (but that's probably a little too far right for you!) LMAO!
