Back on BAG day I reported that I got a new (to me) Mossberg 930 SPX. Here's the thread
http://www.downrange.tv/forum/index.php?topic=16206.0and here's the gun.

Well, I decided to celebrate Good Friday by sneaking out at lunch to the range...here in tropical Michigan it is 39 deg F and raining

I think I got a good one...even though there are reports of some 930's being finicky with ammo. Here's what I tried stepping down from heaviest loads to lightest loads:
+ 5 rounds 1oz Foster slugs -- perfect cycling, flung the empty hulls about 10 feet
+ 5 rounds No 1 buckshot (13 pellets) -- perfect cycling, flung the empty hulls about 10 feet
+ 10 rounds of my handicap trap reloads (18.5 grains Red Dot, 1-1/8 oz 7-1/2, AA hulls) -- perfect cycling, flung the empty hulls about 8 feet
+ 10 rounds of my 16 yard trap reloads (17.5 grains Red Dot, 1-1/8 oz 7-1/2, AA hulls) -- perfect cycling, flung the empty hulls about 8 feet
+ 15 rounds of Wal Mart bulk pack "Universal Target / Game Loads" (2-3/4 dram, 1-1/8 oz 7-1/2) -- perfect cycling, flung the empty hulls about 6 feet
+ 25 rounds of my old Cowboy Action reloads (very light at 16 gr Red Dot, 1 oz of shot) -- cycled all but 3 shells, the ones that ejected landed about 2 feet out
So, I consider that very good reliability. The CAS loads are only meant to be shot in pump or double guns -- they are super light and no where near self defense loads. Everything else ran like a charm.
Plus I tried the "Mossy 930" trick where you lay a shell under the bolt/above the carrier to make the gun hold 1 extra shell...works like a charm. I'm very pleased with it....ready to whack zombies....Type 1 or 2.
