During the great ammo shortage, the 2 handgun calibers that are the most universal (9mm, 45acp) were nowhere to be found in Southern California. .357 was hard to find too. All that I could scrounge up was 40S&W and 9x18 Makarov - even at gun shows. The great demand for the more common calibers made them disappear first.

The only reason I've ever been able to figure out why the 45 gap came around was so glock could put thier name on a round.
I always break all the clay pigeons,  some times its even with lead.

That is true. Especially the great .380 shortage of 2009. However, sites like ammoengine.com, and others, if your timing was right, and were willing to pay, were available.

That is why if there is any lesson to be learned, is to always keep your stocks up. Regardless of caliber.

Thomas Jefferson: The strongest reason for the people to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against the tyranny of government. That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."
Col. Jeff Cooper.
