Quote
While working with the UN Forces in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Marine Sgt. Brandon Beckett (Chad Michael Collins), son of renowned sniper Thomas Beckett, receives orders to rescue a European farmer trapped in the middle of hostile rebel territory. When he and his men arrive at the farm, a mysterious sniper ambushes them, wounding Beckett and killing everyone else. With the help of his fathers former protégé, sniper instructor Richard Miller (Billy Zane), Beckett must learn to think like a sniper to track down the assassin before the sniper returns to finish the job. On top of this he must also track down the one who is giving the orders and reveal a conspiracy.

Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can praise them, disagree with them, quote them, disbelieve them, glorify or vilify them. The only thing you can’t do is ignore them

I don't know about the cinematic history stuff.  The first one wasn't bad but the follow on sequels were a bit hard to watch.

Billy Zane ain't exactly an "A" list actor since all his hair fell off!  I'll watch it for a buck through the RedBox when it gets there but that's about it......Hollywood has a way of phuqing this stuff up anyway...

Someone wants to chronicle Carlos Hathcock and I'd be interested.....

I've been waitin' on that one for many a year.
I know that many movie sniper scenarios have been loosely based on several of his famous shots, but I want a real movie about Hathcock. After reading about him for years, I fully believe there is enough to his life to make a feature-length movie.

"I expect perdition, I always have. I keep this building at my back, and several guns handy, in case perdition arrives in a form that's susceptible to bullets. I expect it will come in the disease form, though. I'm susceptible to diseases, and you can't shoot a damned disease." ~ Judge Roy Bean, Streets of Laredo

For the Patriots of this country, the Constitution is second only to the Bible for most. For those who love this country, but do not share my personal beliefs, it is their Bible. To them nothing comes before the Constitution of these United States of America. For this we are all labeled potential terrorists. ~ Dean Garrison

In a minute and forty five seconds I saw AR's, AK's, and .50 cals. It's on the "must buy" list. Mel is going to Wal-Mart today to pick it up.  Bill T.

Don't get me wrong, I like these movies. However the shooting the guy through the scope has been done to death! I can't remember the last movie that featured snipers that DIDN'T have it.

God grant that I may not be found wanting,
