Finished 10/22 (for now)
« on: May 10, 2011, 09:32:43 AM »
Well, here is a pic of my new 10/22 now that I am done with it:

Put a Tasco Pro Point red dot optic on it.  Not a bad optic.  It has both red and green dots.  The power setting on both only go up to 5 however.  I can live with that.  The extended mag release I put in is much bigger than the one I have on my target 10/22.  Not sure I like that.  I have hit the thing while shooting several times now and dropped the dang mag out of it!  I don't have that problem with my other one, which as I say, although extended, is not so long as this one.  The bolt hold open is sweet.  And the trigger pull is much improved.  I just bought this one to play with, and it is a lot of fun.  Have put 1100 rounds through it since I bought it last week!

Nice looking 10/22!

Just finished my own 10/22, a Target model. I put in a Volquartsen trigger group, extended bolt handle and a couple of other small parts. It also has a TASCO ProPoint on it, but an ancient one...gives me up to 11 adjustments on the red dot. I shot the stock Ruger version in the RRC World Championships last year in Cali and was pleased with its performance. I shot he "upgraded" version yesterday, and ( as we used to say) boy howdy! It was a good gun; it's now a great gun! I'll be using it in the RRC Worlds at Founder's Ranch in NM in August.

Gotta build up a second 10/22 for my Sweetie, who want one with a set of iron sights to match her cowboy rifle. She's already copped my Tactical Solutions/Kimber .22 target pistol as her very own...

I just knew looking at this thread was gonna piss me off! Grrrr Cos I cant have one!!!!!!!!

Looks sweet mate! A no nonsense well built .22. What a great little piece of kit!

I have to make do with my little ruger charger with the archangel kit  :'(
I did swap out the original polymer trigger kit and replaced it with a Hornet trigger kit with metal housing. Trigger pull is a nice crisp 2.75lb and is sweet. Damn thing is more accurate than most .22 rifles at my club will group 10rnd inside 13mm at 50m.

Sweet. The 10/22 is one of those guns that everyone should have.
""It may be laid down as a primary position, and the basis of our system, that every Citizen who enjoys the protection of a free Government, owes not only a proportion of his property, but even his personal services to the defence of it, and consequently that the Citizens of America (with a few legal and official exceptions) from 18 to 50 Years of Age should be borne on the Militia Rolls, provided with uniform Arms, and so far accustomed to the use of them, that the Total strength of the Country might be called forth at a Short Notice on any very interesting Emergency." - George Washington. PS I hope that will be making it over to WBB ;)  I can not wait to see it in person
Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can praise them, disagree with them, quote them, disbelieve them, glorify or vilify them. The only thing you can’t do is ignore them
