'NCIS' Will Integrate Osama Bin Laden's Death

by Chris Harnick, posted May 3rd 2011 3:45PM
Next time the camera pans to the most-wanted list on 'NCIS,' expect to see Osama bin Laden's face with a big red X through it.

According to Vulture, the production team of 'NCIS' will digitally add a death notice over bin Laden's face when his picture appears in the background of a scene, as occasionally happens on the military show.

The series has already wrapped shooting, so adding dialogue about the terrorist leader's death was impossible, leaving the CBS series with only a digital option to address the big military news. The nod could happen as early as tonight's episode.

'NCIS' has featured bin Laden on the set's background most-wanted list since the series began in 2003. The rest of the faces on the wall are made up of real-life wanted criminals as well as producers and crew members.

Tell us: Do you think this is a wise move for 'NCIS'?

it has all ready gone to air  :onya:  NCIS would have to have been the first prime-time TV show to work Osama bin Laden's killing into an episode

Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can praise them, disagree with them, quote them, disbelieve them, glorify or vilify them. The only thing you can’t do is ignore them

I like the producer, Donald P. Bellisario, and give him credit for working it in.   If I were him, I'd also have my sound people look at working in some background TV news sound bites underneath the dialog as well.    Bellisario tends to lean away from PC and progressive side of politics

I GIVE THUMBS UP TO THIS MOVE.

Both I believe produced by Bellisario, which accounts for all of Tony's Magnum PI remarks.

That's what I was saying. The guy knows how to make a good show, and gives respect to the military. I wonder if he served?

Bellisario was born in Cokeburg, Pennsylvania to a Serbian mother, Dana (née Lapcevic) and an Italian father, Albert Bellisario,[1] who was born in Gamberale, Abruzzo, Italy. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1955 to 1959, attaining the rank of Sergeant and earning the Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal.

I had a friend who was a Col in the USMC and a JAG officer. I asked him if he flew his F-14 to take out spies in dangerous places.

His reply was I HATE THAT SHOW!!! ;D
He did not look like Catherine Bell either.

Most of the JAG officers I ever saw were more like the Tom Cruise character in "A few Good Men", over educated punks with good dentists and family connections and no balls or scruples. (If they had scruples would they be lawyers ? )

The only JAG officer I ever met laughed her ass off and said, "I've just been DYING to meet you." Then I hired a lawyer. I never watched JAG either.
