Huckabee says NO to PotUS Bid in 2012

Mike Huckabee rules out a 2012 presidential run

Mike Huckabee announced Saturday that he will not run for president in 2012, eliminating one of the key frontrunners in the GOP nomination race.

"All the factors say go, but my heart says no," the former Arkansas governor declared during the final segment of his weekly Fox News show.

His statement comes after months of speculation about his political future--and Huckabee, who has always enjoyed a little political drama, played up the suspense until the final moments.

---snip---

Speaking to viewers in the final minutes of his show, Huckabee pointed to polls showing him as a frontrunner in the 2012 race. He said his family was on board for another presidential run and said he believed he would be able to raise the money necessary for a White House bid.

But Huckabee admitted his heart just wasn't in it.

"My answer is clear and firm," Huckabee declared. "I will not seek the Republican nomination for president this year. I'm going to continue doing what I do."

Huckabee's decision leaves a gaping hole in what was already a slow-moving GOP primary. The former governor had been the top choice for many social conservatives in the race, and it's unclear to whom that voting base will turn.

To them nothing comes before the Constitution of these United States of America. For this we are all labeled potential terrorists. ~ Dean Garrison

Who cares where the F*cking Idiot vote goes ?

Huckabee is, like Romney, a retread loser who could not even beat a shmuck like McCain.
At least Huckabee seems to realize it, some one needs to put a bug in RINO Romney's ear, then we would have a good field of Candidates.
Trump dropped out because there is not much to chose between Bachman, Santorum, Cain, or Pawlenty.
Any one of them would be good choices, and all 4 of them need to beat the Republican leadership before they can get a fair shot at the Dems.

Actually there is a lot to choose from among the four.
Bachman is an idiot. Santorum is theocrat. He may be a conservative, but he has zero respect for small government, and wants big brother in your bedroom. Cain and Pawlenty are both interesting. Cain is a bit of a flake, but I like what he says and he has solid real world credentials. No smoke and mirrors like Trump, just a real honest business. Pawlenty has some good credentials and decent ideas. Those two I would like to hear more from.

Well, that narrows it down for me. If an azzhole like FQ hates Bachman that's who gets my vote.

Just goes to show what hypocrites these liberals are, they make a big deal about "Women's rights" when it serves their divisive purposes, but put up a woman candidate and their true sexist nature is revealed to the world.
FQ says a former 2 term Mayor, who actually held a JOB as a weather forecaster, and was elected Gov. of her State doesn't have enough experience, so he voted for a guy who served 1 term in the state senate and never held a job.
He wouldn't even vote for Hillary.

I think rommie would have gotton more votes then McCain did.

the "hard core" right and left are always going to vote which ever way they lean.  its those in the middle where elections are won and lost.
I always break all the clay pigeons,  some times its even with lead.

The voting public want to be sold on a candidate and depending on political slant may stay home rather then go to the polls if no one impresses them. I now believe Huckabee has more brains then ego, he would not beat BO with all the obstacles the liberals would bring to bear. Fox has made him a rich man and it would be ungrateful of him to leave and expect to return if he isn't elected.

Plus you've got ask yourself this. Who puts themselves through that nightmare twice unless they really think they can win? I've worked campaigns and its hunded hour weeks, insane travel, kissing ass to donors, smiling for the cameras, giving the same speech for the thousandth time ("Hello Tampa..er, I mean Orlando!) and the list goes on. You have to either think you can win, seriously elevate the debate, or be a media whore to even think about doing it once, let alone twice. Good for Huckabee. The fact that he was sane enough not to run is oddly enough a reason to vote for him. ;D
