Obama makes light of royal toast blunder

President Obama on Wednesday made light of an awkward moment during his Tuesday night dinner with Queen Elizabeth (watch above), when, in the middle of his toast, the orchestra began playing "God Save the Queen."

Mr. Obama, who spoke through the music and finished his toast to the Queen, joked to British Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg that he thought the orchestra was providing his speech with dramatic accompaniment.

"I thought that it was like, it was like out of the movies when the soundtrack kinda comes in," President Obama quipped to Clegg, of the interruption.
"Like a crescendo," Clegg laughed. "A voiceover."

"I thought you did exactly the right thing," Clegg assured Mr. Obama. (watch his comments at left)

Last night was not Mr. Obama's only minor gaffe in England yesterday: When signing the guest book at Westminster Abbey, the president accidentally wrote the date as "24 May 2008."

When are the liberal media going to admit that, without his teleprompter, Barack Obama is as big a doofus as they always claimed George Bush was?

Imagine if Bush, instead of Obama, had just gotten the date wrong by three years in signing a guest book at Westminster Abbey, writing down May 24, 2008, instead of May 24, 2011?

Imagine if Bush, instead of Obama, had just committed the diplomatic blunder of toasting the Queen during the playing of God Save the Queen, when you’re not supposed to drink?

Whereas Bush was constantly ridiculed for his little stuff ups, some even completely made up (like where he was supposed to have been reading a childrens book upside down – it was a photoshop job) Obama's goofs are hardly reported.'

we know  that US president is a tough, high pressure job, but the double standards of their media does stand out like dogs balls on a canary,    not that I it would surprise anyone here.

The mishap with the date was simply a glitch in his Manchurian Software programming.

W and Lincoln have much in common.
No matter what either intended to do on taking office the out break of war dictated their future actions. Both were savagely excoriated by the Democratic traitors ( particularly those from NY) Who called for everything from their resignation, impeachment, even murder.
W was fortunate enough to actually survive his 2 terms while Lincoln of course was assassinated by a democrat.
