Whatcha carryin' - Porn inside
« on: June 01, 2011, 01:15:11 PM »
After reading some recent threads about the LCP, carry .45's etc. I figured I'd share some pics of my current, regular Summer carry setup. The LCP is always on me, in the house or out. It moves to my right rear pocket when I get dressed in anything more than gym shorts. As soon as a put on a belt, shorts or pants I add in the .45 and pouch with 2 Wilson 47D mags (Kimber mag pictured is now a car/range mag), 1 LCP mag and 2-3 more tuff strips of .357 and a tactical pen. I also have a streamlight 1-P in the pouch. The revolver is a M&P 340 - .357mag with XS Big Dot and VZ J-frame grips. The .45 is my Kimber Pro Raptor with VZ Operator grips. The knife pictured is my ZT-0200 and I usually carry another multi-purpose knife, most of the time being a combo edge SOG flash II.

Pretty cool.

I carry a RAMI P in 9mm, backup is the Ruger LCP w/CT laser.

Some days the Ruger LCR 38+P or my Micro Desert Eagle .380 gets the nod.

However, at pushing 50.

I wonder if I should just sell all my small guns and go back to my first love of the gun world,
a Commander sized 1911.

The Dan wesson CCO seems simple and ideal for my retired life.

You can't argue stopping power and the guns run perfectly fine for most owners.

I'd then have to modify my slogan for CZ foum.com that's been going for nearly 10 years now.

I'll play.

The top picture is my typical carry positioned approximately where it would be on me.  Front right pocket, Spyderco Endura and Surefire Backup.  At about 3 o'clock, my Glock 26 in my Crossbreed Supertuck Deluxe.  At about 9 o'clock, a spare mag for a 19 in a Fobus paddle holster and a Surefire 6px pro.  Front left pocket, Spyderco Delica.  This doesn't include the other random junk, batteries etc in my pockets.  Truck door or stuck between the seat and console depending on neighborhood/time of day, 19 in a Bianchi holster that came with it.  I also have 2 more spare mags in the truck door, but they're still there.

Second pic.  If I'm feeling froggy and/or have more clothing, I'll swap out the 19 for the 26.  The 26 goes in an Aholster pocket holster which may go in a coat pocket if I'm wearing one and feel the need.  If not, it goes in the truck door.

Third pic.  Everything out of its holster.

If I need to go lighter or more concealed, I usually leave out the spare mag and holstered light and move the backup light to the front left pocket. Quick trips may see me using the 26 in the pocket holster or stuck in the waistband of gym shorts (trip to the truck, dumpster, or mailbox).

Here’s to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They’re not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo. You can praise them, disagree with them, quote them, disbelieve them, glorify or vilify them. The only thing you can’t do is ignore them

I love the grips on that 340. A very cool looking piece. Can I ask what they set you back (not that I can afford the gun, but its on my top five "I want it list" right up there with another Bond, an AK and a BFR, the other two vary by the day ;) ).
Thanks
FQ13 who makes do very nicely with a G26 and a G19 for carry, and a Maverick 12 gauge and AR for "bedside" guns.

The VZ J-Frame grips are $75. I had to really think hard on buying them since I like the Hogue and Uncle Mikes J-Frame boot grips they came with. The real kicker for me was the fact that I pretty much only carry it in the pocket and the rubber tends to hang up. After getting this set I'm so hooked on them I plan to get them for my other 2 J-Frames when my budget allows. Seeing as the M&P 340 is as pricey as it is I can justify them on it as well as my 337ti but on my 642 I may hold off since the grips would equal 1/5 to 1/6 of the overall cost of the gun. The fact that I could get the same hyena brown color as my VZ operators didn't hurt either although they look quite a bit different sanded smooth than being textured. I'm a huge VZ fan, their grips just flat out work and look good doing it.
