We are having one of the coolest springs here in Phoenix in the 20 years I've been here. Normally it's well into the 100's and even the 110's this time of year. Right now I've got the windows open, and it is 66 degrees outside as I type this. That is unheard of in June. Normally it never cools down below the upper 80's or lower 90's this time of year. So much for "Global Warming".  Bill T.

:o  Surprised you haven't painted all your guns white just so you can pick them up without getting burnt!

That's no joke. Last year when I was servicing my pool filter, I left a wrench in the Sun for a few minutes. When I grabbed it I burned my hand it was so hot! Shooting in that kind of weather is all but impossible. Some do it, but I don't see how. Once your barrel heats up there is no way to cool it down, and mirage is a real problem. I've seen guys bring a propane tank with a hose, and run propane through the barrel to cool it off. It acts like a refrigerant. I don't like to shock cool a barrel that way.

I try to catch up on my reloading during the hot weather, then start shooting in the fall around October when it cools off. The older I get, the less I like being out in the heat, except to use the pool. Which incidentally, we haven't been in yet because of the cool weather so far. We have never had to wait this long.   Bill T.

Not here in Ga.
We hit 102 in the shade yesterday.....a record high (broke the old record of 99 set in 1913).....
I actually saw a bird panting (like a dog does) in a wal-mart parking lot.......and it's gonna hit close to that for the next 7 days in a row.
We haven't had enough measurable rain in 7 weeks either.

It's cyclical.
"I expect perdition, I always have. I keep this building at my back, and several guns handy, in case perdition arrives in a form that's susceptible to bullets. I expect it will come in the disease form, though. I'm susceptible to diseases, and you can't shoot a damned disease." ~ Judge Roy Bean, Streets of Laredo

For the Patriots of this country, the Constitution is second only to the Bible for most. For those who love this country, but do not share my personal beliefs, it is their Bible. To them nothing comes before the Constitution of these United States of America. For this we are all labeled potential terrorists. ~ Dean Garrison

Yeah, the lack of rain thing is hitting LOTS of people.

No chance of any for the next 10 days, and we haven't seen any in I don't know how long...  The temperatures have been GREAT.  The high hummidity makes it just gross outside night or day though.  Mexican gardeners are sweatin bullets if that tells you anything.   :(

Lack of rain in some areas, ie Texas, and floods elsewhere. Crazy hot weather. Been a Skywarn Spotter for a long time and have never seen weather patterns and severe storms like what we have seen through the nation this year. Sad part is that this is just the beginning of severe weather season.

Cool stuff.  My wife and daughter went to the class, I wanted to but kept missing my opportunitys.   :(

From NOAA:

"The Atlantic hurricane season is officially from 1 June to 30 November. There is nothing magical in these dates, and hurricanes have occurred outside of these six months, but these dates were selected to encompass over 97% of tropical activity. June 1st has been the traditional start of the Atlantic hurricane season for decades. However, the end date has been slowly shifted outward, from October 31st to November 15th until its current date of November 30th.

The Atlantic basin shows a very peaked season from August through October, with 78% of the tropical storm days, 87% of the minor hurricane days, and 96% of the major hurricane days occurring then. Maximum activity is in early to mid September. Once in a few years there may be a tropical cyclone occurring "out of season" - primarily in May or December."

Marble sized hail and tornado warnings?  Out here in flyover country we have a name for those days, they're called "summer".
I love waking up every morning knowing that Donald Trump is President!!

First time in tripple digits this year.

Seeing this, I can't help but wonder if it's worse loosing power up north when snow storms come through, or being in the south and a summer storm takes out the power?   :-\
