I have no issue with a state not execpting other states permits/lic.

In some state you can have a minor drug conviction, in others you can't.

I can only agree on TAB with this one...and, of course, logically extend it to driver's licenses, since the requirements vary from state to state in the number of hours of classroom training, the maneuvers required to pass the road test and all the variances in reasons and length of time licenses can be suspended.  You might be driving on a license that is ok in your state but would still be suspended in other states.

One simply has to plan their vacation route to avoid driving through states that don't recognize your license.  You better hope the adjacent states don't all not honor your license or you will be flying on a lot of vacations.  Check in advance to see if you are allowed to rent a car at your destination.

Sounds reasonable to me!

Your answer is mostly in the map.  Just select each state and check your residence status.  The map will show you what you get, and you can look at the lists.  Once you have done this go to the Attorneys General web sites and double check.

The only other way for me to tell you is to do the work for you, and as my teachers always told me "That ain't gonna happen!"

I've played around with that map before and I can't find anything worth adding to a FL resident but possibly NV. I was wondering if anyone found something I've missed. FL resident gives 37 states and the Nevada would add 2 more (NV & MN). I believe 39 states is about the max for readily obtainable non-resident reciprocity. There are a couple/few more states that claim to offer non-resident shall issue permits like Oregon and Maryland but I've heard they are not to easy to get. I know I'm already covered in all the states I regularly travel in and have pretty much boycotted traveling to states like California, New York and Illinois until they change their laws.

We need organizations that stage competitions in these states to do the same publicly!

Unfortunately, California's gun market is incredibly huge and the promoters of those competitions are getting plenty of support without people traveling there. I guess, thankfully, that it's good that a lot of the people are still wanting to shoot here, or the rights would go completely away. I'm still abandoning ship next week. I can't wait to change my driver's license.

Where y'headed Fuzdaddy?

Leaving California for Utah. By this afternoon I will have abandoned ship on this self-destruct state. When I cross the border into NV, I'll make sure that I don't look back and turn to a pillar salt.

To paraphrase Douglas Adams, CA, so long, and thanks for all the fish.

Good travels to you Fuzdaddy.

M58, I absolutely agree. But unfortunately, liberals far outnumber the normal people in California. My brother moved out there about 7 years ago from Boston. Great guy, but Cali has put the zap into his way of thinking and he lives in Oakland. He almost was mugged recently, he fought the guy off and had him arrested, but still has anti-gun views. I just do not understand it?

Since I'm new to this site forgive me for posting a late addition.  I definitely believe in multiple CCW's.  I have 6 at this point and when Wisconsin finally approves their CC law in November, assuming the have reciprocity with at least one of the states I am registered with, I will be "legal" in 40 states.  Granted, I could get nearly that many with fewer CCW's but I feel the more familiar I am with the laws of all these states the better.  One can never have enough training or knowledge about the law.
