2 years ago we ordered a little 150cc off ebay for $600, and it's the best money I've ever spent!  Doesn't need a tag, insurance, anything, other than about $2.60 worth of gas a week.  It's got something like 3,000 clicks on it now.  And that's saying something when almost everything is within 2 miles of us...  One of us takes it somewhere or another every single day, and we actually fight over who "has to take the car"!

I hope your just upgrading to a newer model right?  8)

It was a Chinese POS called a "Baccio". Looked like a Vespa, sounded like a Vespa, ran like a Chinese POS. ;D I paid $800 for it with less than 2k miles so I can't bitch, but it just wasn't enough bike. Thing is, all the roads around my place are 45 mph. A scooter, while great if you live in a city where everyone is doing 30, is just a death trap if the surrounding traffic is going 55. It took me about two trips with me maxing the thing out to hit 50 to realize that. If I get a new one it will be a real motor bike, which you can also find cheap on craig's list. I like mopeds/scooters (a flash back to college when I made the rent as a courier in DC), but they only work if you live down town.

As to the conversation on booze....

I'm a scotch guy but if you buy more than rot gut vodka, gin or any other liquor, you will get what you pay for.  Good gin is very good in any number of cool refreshing cocktails and vodka can be mixed with darn near anything. 

Top shelf makes a difference and never mix good booze with soda pop!

Try Plymouth gin. It is amazing. I'm more of a G@T guy, but that stuff I can drink pretty much straight as long as I sternly warn it with a bit of vermouth. ;)
As far as the moped thing? They are the perfect city vehicle. Fast as the average flow of traffic, you can white line to the head of a traffic light and you don't need a parking spot. Just lock it to a lamp post like a bike. In DC, I never got a tag for mine and never got ticketed because if it was under 100 ccs it wasn't required.

It went down smooth enough, it was the 2 days it spent coming up that were rough  ;D
Used to like Vodka and Grapefruit juice but one of my Heart meds is supposed to react badly with grapefruit.

Never understood it, but EVERY time I ever ordered a screwdriver anywhere in Europe they'd give me a glass filled to the rim with vodka and a little bottle of orange pop...  Once you got the glass down far enough to cut the vodka with the pop there was no point.  They also served stuff like bannana juice for breakfast instead of orange juice.  It was good!  Just weird.   :-\

Sounds like a proper bar.

Around here we have a place called the Sunset Grill.  They serve breakfasts on Sunday, and because there's a law against selling liquor before 1100 hours, they offer a free Bloody Mary for a buck extra on their standard breakfast.  For $2 more, you can get an upgrade which is a pint of stuff.  Essentially, it's a glass full of vodka and some ice with enough mix to turn it pink if you stir it well.  Two eggs, sausage or bacon, homefries or toast WITH the upgraded Bloody costs $6.  Bunny and I hit it almost every Sunday.  Then we nap for a couple of hours.

Its because they knew how to serve a drink correctly BM. In an ideal world a mixed drink should come strong as hell over rocks with the mixer on the side. At the first sip or two you get that nice little burn to let you know you're not drinking lemon aid. As you sip, you add mixer. That and the melting ice mellows the thing out, and lets you nurse it for a while. Its a good thing. The perfect rum and coke is a glass full of rum and ice with a can of coke on the side. YMMV.
