I'd suggest staying away from anything with forward slide serrations. I imagine they hurt.   ;D
You'll wind up looking like this guy   ;D

"I expect perdition, I always have. I keep this building at my back, and several guns handy, in case perdition arrives in a form that's susceptible to bullets. I expect it will come in the disease form, though. I'm susceptible to diseases, and you can't shoot a damned disease." ~ Judge Roy Bean, Streets of Laredo

For the Patriots of this country, the Constitution is second only to the Bible for most. For those who love this country, but do not share my personal beliefs, it is their Bible. To them nothing comes before the Constitution of these United States of America. For this we are all labeled potential terrorists. ~ Dean Garrison

I would figure it's a personal preference billt. I don't like the grip angle or texture of the XD. Even though it's a damn fine pistol.
Same with the Glockenspiel 21 I own. aka railroad tie, with grip.

However, as the Sigma were an attempt to rush something out to keep up with G's, the 4006,4506, and a couple other 4series were all steel, and except for the Clintonista "no fire without mag crap" are still holding their value today.

I had a original 411 in .40. bought in 93ish. Trijicon sights, and shot the crap out of it. Never an issue.

The M&P (I own two), have a better grip texture and angle that the OTHER maunfacturers had to play catch up with, as M&P came out with different size grip panels first.

All in all, regardless of brand, the Gen 4 Glocks, XD's, Sig's, etc,... are good pistols...I've also seen $2200 Kimber's fail to eject and feed. I won't change my opinion about my M&P's as I've run them hard and they keep going.

I hate it for rat, and am certain he'll get one that works for him.

Thomas Jefferson: The strongest reason for the people to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against the tyranny of government. That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."
Col. Jeff Cooper.

I got the M&P Pro back today. They replaced both front and rear sights.
They also threw in one of those baby MA compliant magazines, a 10 rounder.

I shoot IDPA with it so that will work.

If I see Bane this weekend at the Shooting Industry Masters wearing a Kilt I'll take a picture and have it posted.

Really liked the Smith and Wesson M&P 9C that I bought for my wife. Problem I had was the magazine release was too easy and caused my magazine to fall out twice at the supermarket. Time to go and purchased a Glock 30SF to replace. Never looked back. Now for the the Smith and Wesson M&P Rifle, would love to own one. And I do like S&W revolvers...

Locktite red???

Bingo! It's not that big of friggin' deal in my book. My four M&P's haven't given any problems from the factory and when I did replace the sights, a little loctite red cinched things just fine.

Here's how I look at it. If I pay my own good money for a rifle/shotgun/pistol don't ask me to play armorer to fix your QC or design problems.

I could have locktite or peen the parts but that is not happening because if something went wrong again and it had to make another trip to MA I would not want to hear, Sorry Mr., you voided the warranty.

Do it right or make it right but don't tell my to clean up your crap for you. Not happening.

S&W has stepped up both times and made it right so I'm OK with the process. Your milage may vary.

Whether it's life or competition, You need to have implicit faith in your tools.
How well it may work for some one else is totally irrelevant if it doesn't work for you.

I agree, and I'm seeing more and more of this kind of acceptance of manufacturers failing to do their job at the factory. I get tired of reading about these "proven fixes" for so many of these guns. Mistakes happen in manufacturing. That I understand. But quality control should catch them. And if there is a constant, reoccurring problem with customers returning guns because of the same issue, manufacturing corrections should be made, but many times because of cost reasons, they are not, and the problem continues as a result.  Bill T.
