I was looking at the list of who is currently viewing the site and in between the list of members and the number of guests , in parenthesis, it said +1 hidden, whats that all about ?

Yep.. that's right. If you don't want anyone to know you are online..you can choose to be hidden and it will not let anyone know you are there. Sometimes people do this when they are in a heated battle on a thread and don't want anyone to know that they are checking it all the time..but since we are the owner's and moderators of the site.. we can go into the system and see who it is that is hidden. We have had a few times when there was lots of dissension between a couple of $hit stirrers. They caused so much grief to people and personally to Marshal  that he finally had to ban them.  But they used the hidden feature a lot.

And I would like to clear up this other thing that we have been asked before ..

We CAN NOT read or access any PM's ( Personal Messages) that are sent between users. That is encrypted into the software and can not be accessed by anyone other than the person to whom the message is being sent. So personal messages are exactly that.

Thank you for clearing that up. As for the PM's I don't think any of us would care if You ,Marshal or MB could read the PM's, after all, you are the ones who went to the trouble of giving us this place to meet and exchange thoughts with the more or less like minded     What people SHOULD worry about are the initialed fascists, and the truth is, NSA has the ability to read ANYTHING that is transmitted electronically, I've been reading  a history of a US special op's group and in the course of the narrative it was talking about how intelligence agencies can ; track monitor and even activate your cell phone remotely. Bottom line is if you don't want the world to know something you are thinking, do not communicate it, if 2 people know something it is no longer a secret, I think Churchill said that.

As a new member to a fantastic forum, despite differences and similar opinions, attitudes, and personal preferences, this is BY FAR, the most civil site where members can discuss pros and cons about anything related to firearms.  This is NOT found on almost any other forum where there is always a profane and downright insulting punk or punks that should just go away.

For that, I'm thankful.

PS I'm still glad the Marshall's are moderating.
