NICE little radio!

I've been looking at reviews on this thing all over the internet.  People love it!  Recieve and transmit to pretty much ANYONE. 

Should there ever be an emergency, natural disaster, zombies.  Being able to listen for, and reply to most ANYONE might be a nice thing to do...

Your surely wondering.  In our "land of freedom", how can it be legal to own such a powerfull tool?  It's not.  SO DON'T BUY ONE OF THESE OFF EBAY FOR $80 BUCKS!!!

Read the reviews, watch the videos, check out the blogs on it.  Dream about having it.  But know it's a horrible Un-American no no to think of buying one!

Talk to ANYBODY, take it anywhere size, 16hr batt. life, well made, CHEAP, Not much more to say.     Oh yeah, ILLEGAL.  Don't buy one.

OK, so why is it illegal? For the 2meter you need a tech HAM license. Other than that?

I would think it is illegal since it comes able to transmit on not just amateur frequencies, but also at high power.  Of course owning such a radio is not in itself the problem, transmitting on those frequencies, and with 5W (FRS) would be.  Of course I know plenty of people that have 'opened' their radios to do just this.  Welcome to the global marketplace.  It would certainly not replace my VX-150, but I can see a use for it in the right situation.

Can also transmit and recieve encrypted on any freq..  That's a no no.

I have seen them cruising around today that can be had without the encryption.  Then the exrs radios use a method frequency hopping that would be very difficult to figure out as well.

I think this may be another reason you don't see this radio for sale through US suppliers.

It'll apparently transmit on any ch. it'll receive on if "unlocked".

Unlocked:
F0: 88.000-108.000MHz
F1: 136.000-173.995MHz
F2: 350.000-389.995MHz
F3: 400.000-469.995MHz
F4: 470.000-519.995MHz

225 - 380 Mhz Military UHF Aircraft - mostly AM mode 25 Khz steps
380 - 406 Mhz Military UHF Trunking - FM Narrow Band 12.5 Khz steps

BIG no no transmitting on those I'll guess.
