What do we do today?
Last week Pres. BHO was told by many that he needed to get Congressional approval for the war and the United States role in Libya. He snubbed these demands. The arrogant and unforgivable response he gave were not the I am within my power or the War Powers Act give me the authority answers that I expected. Instead he stated that he had United Nations authorization to become involved and stay involved.
Since when did United Nations authority or United Nations anything trump the Constitution of the United States?
Many have taken issue with Pres. G. W. Bush and his involvement in both Afghanistan and Iraq. They chose to forget that he had Congressional approval for both wars, and after the first approval he went back to Congress a second time before going into Iraq.
I am not debating whether we should or should not be in Iraq or Afghanistan. I am not debating the investigations of the multi-national intelligence used to justify the involvement in Iraq. I am asking if one President is wrong to go to war after using multi-national intelligence and with overwhelming approval from Congress, why is it ok for another President to go to war (or involve us in a war) with nothing but the approval of the United Nations?
This made the national news late last week in an attempt to make one party look like clowns, and it has disappeared since. But, the little I am able to find in our wonderful watchdog media is that Pres. BHO has gone past a peck on the cheek all the way to heavy petting with the U.N.
