As of 2009 and adjusted, the U.S. consumes 18,690,000 barrels +/- a day.

30 Million Barrels were authorized released by the Anointed One as a "fix"....So we can buy it back from Brazil at an inflated price down the road. And refineries are not increasing production and holding at 88%.

Meanwhile the Moose in ANWR, are laughing.....What a freakin genius.

Thomas Jefferson: The strongest reason for the people to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against the tyranny of government. That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."

Look at it as Obama opening an opportunity for you to share your wealth.   :)

In the democrat mind... The world will love and respect you for it!   :)

"President" Obama.  We americans are lucky like that!   :)

Too bad he's releasing it for WORLD market instead of keeping it here at home to lower prices.

Just another trick to buy votes and boost poll numbers! LOL!   :-[

As boneheaded as this move is, I will defend it to this limited degree. There is no way to sell oil domestically. Its a global market as its a fungible product like all commodities, and its price is largely set by futures trading. There is no practical way to say "this is for America only" without the market correcting. This makes it an even more boneheaded move.

It seems like he never misses an opportunity to show that he just does not get it.

What I can't figure out is if he has surrounded himself with advisers who are as clueless as he is or if he just doesn't listen to them?

Jeez, Solus, we've been talking about this for years now. It ain't incompetence. Well, OK, it is, but it is willful incompetence, in that they are to screw things up as seriously as they can in 4 years and as massively and systemically as they can so there is no recovery. None.

People that Soros is the figurehead for want this country destroyed - they have sold us short and will reap billions as we founder and go under. That is the objective and as incompetently as it may appear, so long as the objective is gained, it does not matter.

Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

You weren't supposed to catch that it was less than two days usage!

It sounds like sooooooooooo much, and you were supposed to be relived, excited, relaxed, ready to vote BHO, and go right out and buy a brand new IPad2 that was made in China to boost our economy.

Let's see - Yesterday he announced that over the next year and a half he is going to bring home his 30,000 surge from Afghanistan, and today he is releasing oil from our strategic oil reserves (set aside for military use to keep the military machine rolling for our defense) - Must be re-election time  >:(
If I appear taller than other men it is because I am standing on the shoulders of others.

This effort was so small and insignificant, I didn't think to associate it with the real effort to destroy the country, which I do believe is in progress.

However in the last few days I've seen a couple of news stories that I've thought indicated that BHO is acting from some sort of "make nice" effort with the American People...at least those who might think like we do.

First I heard about a raid on illegal immigrants but I can't remember the exact number, I just think it was near 2000...not a significant number...but they were going to be deported.

The second was the suddenly announced pull out of troops from Afghanistan.  May have been planned all along, but the timing of the announcement caught my attention.

The third was this release of oil from the strategic reserves.  Again not a significant quantity released.

Don't really know if these events are notable, but the timing with the fallout from Gunwalker growing, they caught my attention.  Perhaps the BHO administration is doing some Image Building to help with the hits they are likely to take from it.

From that point of view, I wondered about the oil release since rather than build a good image it helped build one of a bumbling, clueless idiot.
