Ok, I woke up this morning to the sound of chainsaws. That is never a good sign.

I was afraid my HOA had gotten designs on my shrubbery and went out to keep the guys from cutting my palm trees into lollipops (which is apparently trendy, since they keep trying to make me do it) or knocking my hibiscus back to waist high on Guatemalan, which is knee high to us gringos. What do I find, but a damn hot little 20 something Latina in a hard hat wielding a chainsaw telling me they were cutting the trees in the common areas, not in the yards, but that the boss was making deals on pruning since they were there. At least I think that's what she said, I was distracted , and I can't blame my poor Spanish either. (And who would think that at 40 you'd develop a fetish for sweaty short women with chainsaws? But in my defense, she was wearing a wife beater, shorts, work boots and a hard hat and if there was a scrap of underwear anywhere, I sure as hell didn't see it and it wasn't for lack of looking.

).
Anyhow, off I go to see El Jefe. He is a very nice guy and tells me he'll trim the tree in my driveway back off the roof and sidewalk for $50.

Hell, I couldn't rent a chainsaw for that price, so I say go to it. Ten minutes later the aforementioned Latina is up a ladder with a chainsaw. She cut a lot more tree than I had thought, being the enthusiastic sort I suppose. Still, I sat on the ground and watched, and didn't say a word.

FQ13 who is struggling very hard not to make some sort of tree/bush comment. I will refrain and leave it to y'all. All I can say is that just in terms of the trim job, I got my money's worth twice. No American worker could have competed at that price.
