Conceal carry gun TAURUS 24/7 in 3.5" barrell

     I will be taking my conceal course in two weeks. I have my eye on a TAURUS 24/7 Millenium Pro in 3.5" barrel chambered in .40cal. Has anyone shot this model or has anyone heard anything about how this gun shoots and how accurate it is at 7yds or less. Input is helpful.

Everything shoots accurate at 7 yds. The only question becomes are you accurate with your weapons platform at 7 yds. Before you buy it either take it to the range or physically handle it and make sure it is the right pistol for your hand and how you shoot. Also, if you do get a pistol with a manual safety system, make sure that the safety is easy to take off (for your fingers). As for the Taurus, it's not a Glock , but being compact, light weight and for around $350 not a bad deal!!

I was eyeing up the Milennium, either in 9mm or 45 and read as much as I could about them on forums. I ended up not getting it because there are very mixed reports. It seems that they keep improving, so newer ones are better than early models. I have read some folks think they are junk and others love them.
For $350 or less it's worth a try, if it feels good in your hand. You might also want to look at the Springfield XD w/ 3" barrel. It will cost more but it's a solid weapon.

I own an XD40. I like it and I use it for home protection. I did hold in my hand the sub-compact pistol and what I did not like is that the top part of the gun is huge. I held the TAURUS 24/7 and a glock conceal model side by side. They were the same height and length. The glock was a bit thinner than the taurus and and about $150.00 cheaper. The TAURUS felt good in my hand, I also enjoy how my Springfield XD feels in my hand, and that is one thing I was picky on. I did not want to try to get used to too many guns in my hand. I wanted the feel and handle of my guns to be cosistent.

Umm, they seem to be good little guns. As the other posters said it is accurate at 7yds. I have shot one and compared it to my Glock 27 .40 caliber. The Glock was little more accurate and little bit thinner, but the Taurus is cheaper. And I have pierce mag extenders on my Glock 27 mags ..so it and the millennium pro are about the same size. Along time ago I was actually looking to get the taurus millennium.. until I shot a Glock.. and for me personally.. I just like the Glock trigger/feel better.. but both seem to be similar. A couple of my buddies have 24/7's and other taurus'es and they like theirs.

I too took a CCW class using both my Taurus 24/7 and Millenium PT140 both in .40. However I found that I had a hard time keeping control of the Millenium and have since gone to the M&P compact in .40. Much more controlable, better sights, and not much more than the Taurus when you consider the free mags and money Smith & Wesson are giving back to you.

I have found my Taurus Pt111 9mm a very solid weapon.  With over 1000 rounds thru mine, it's never misfired, jammed, or malfunctioned with any ammo at all.   Everyone who shoots it likes it.  It takes some time to make it accurate, mostly it's due to the small size and short sight radius. But at realistic defense distances it's very good. It also carries very well and has a good manual safety.   I like it so much I'm thinking about it's bigger brother, the 24/7 longslide.
I"m to understand the Phillipine police just ordered 5000 units and are replacing their worn out Beretta 92's with them.

if you think sight radius is important look at the F-F videos from D.R.Middlebrooks. The lack of trigger-control it the issue.

I couldn't agree more on the Springfield XD.  I own an XD Subcompact in .40 and LOVE it.  They are more money than the Taurus but when you figure that it is what is protecting your life it's worth the money.  The XD Subcompact comes in 9MM or .40, is smaller that the Taurus 24/7 and is my favorite handgun I have owned.  You can pick one up at www.budsgunshop.com under $500.  Rent one at a range.  I'm sure you'll love it.  I've also found that most ranges that also sell guns will waive the rental fee if you buy the gun after you test it.  It's a win/win situation.  If you like the gun you get the rental free.  If you don't like the gun it cost you only $25 to $30 to avoid making a $500 to $600 mistake buying it before trying it.
