I thought I'd heard years ago that anytime one quake happens, there has to be an equal one somewhere else before long to relieve the pressure created by the first one.  Maybe Nevada's opportunity to be oceanfront property?   ;)

I can't think of how it will be detrimental to the rest of the world should Cali. become the new Atlantis.   :-\

Now I know why TAB has several boats.

Badger, occasionally I think what a great place this country would be if all the area west of the fault (I'm not going to try the fault name) suddenly fell into the sea. I know why they call it the left coast.

Pecos, who will catch hell for this post.

Look whats been going on in Alaska!  Dang!  So the 7.1 in Japan was possibly "relief" from the pressure build up in AK for the last week.  :-\

I don't remember hearing about earthquakes being a big deal in Alaska.  The quakes seem to be happening right where most of their population is at.   :(
