ATF to Require Information on Frequent Gunbuyers in Border States

Published July 11, 2011

| Associated Press

WASHINGTON -- In an effort to stem the illicit flow of weapons into Mexico (ED: Which they set up, managed, and directed), the Justice Department announced Monday that all gun shops in four Southwest border states will be required to alert the federal government to frequent buyers of high-powered rifles.

The new policy comes amid criticism of a failed federal probe aimed at dismantling large-scale arms trafficking networks along the Arizona border with Mexico.

<more at the link - even with a huge charlie foxtrot called "Fast and Furious", they are so damned arrogant to think that they still can pull this crap off!   >:(

And then there's this -

http://www.saysuncle.com/2011/07/11/batf-has-ruled-223-6-5-grendel-and-6-8spc-cartridges-are-now-pistol-cartridges/

"BATF has ruled .223, 6.5 Grendel and 6.8SPC cartridges are now pistol cartridges?

So reports the proprietor of Elite Tactical Ammunition. I searched for a ruling on this and cannot find one. However, the president of the company states that the ATF SWAT Team showed up with a search warrant and told him that."

Interesting, if true.

IMHO, the whole "Dept. of Justice is reviewing" BS that bho and Carney were spewing were mis-direction - - the grabbing will come like these, and - wait for it - the Dept. of Commerce outlawing imports of ammo, magazines, rifles, shotguns, pistols, etc.

The first part sounds like they reworded a story from 2 years ago. Remember the ones about "increased reporting, but only in the SW Border states" .

"BATF has ruled .223, 6.5 Grendel and 6.8SPC cartridges are now pistol cartridges?
WTF  ?
Will the people finally rebel now ?
Or just bitch until "Dancing with the Stars" comes on and then forget about it?

IIRC, the ATF floated the idea but never implemented the rule. Now they have.

FTA: "Gun Rights Advocates Wary of Coming Obama Measures in Wake of Tucson Shooting
By Kelly Chernenkoff & Shannon Bream
Published July 11, 2011

Gun rights advocates are expressing concern over the Obama administration's plans for a new gun control push six months after the shooting in Tucson, Ariz., and they warn that attempts to curb gun rights could provoke a political fight.

Attorney Alan Gura, who successfully argued two recent Second Amendment cases before the U.S. Supreme Court, vowed to give intense scrutiny to any new initiative the president puts forward."

"intense scrutiny"? ? ? ? ? The word is NO! HELL NO!!!!! We need to fight every damn thing bho and his minions try to do.

Is the ATF like the Fed? Literally Untouchable?

Does no one in DC have the balls to say WTF are you doing?  The DOJ blows off the Congressional Hearings,.....the ATF raids a gun shop, and declares 6.5, 6.8, .223 "pistol" rounds?

Where's the smackdown?

OBTW, where can I get a 6.8 pistol?....
Thomas Jefferson: The strongest reason for the people to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against the tyranny of government. That is why our masters in Washington are so anxious to disarm us. They are not afraid of criminals. They are afraid of a populace which cannot be subdued by tyrants."
Col. Jeff Cooper.

Of course I get your point.  And it is 1000% valid!  But also of course, the purple unicorn DOES exist.   :-\
