Elvis versus Richard Thompson?
« on: July 17, 2011, 01:16:17 AM »
Now, I would never back an upstart Brit against the King. But...... the man can come up with  some lyrics and I couldn't  play an acoustic guitar that well if I had three hands (no joke, the guy is awesome). Richard Thompson is a legend and I pay respect to the man. So, I hear this song and say, well, you sir, are welcome to Graceland, and the KING  would open the door, because this song is  the real deal (I choose Jaybet as the final judge).

In case anyone thought I stuttered in my first post, the man can do things to an acoustic guitar that aren't natural, and the lyrics don't suck either. ;)  :o

PS Even if you think I am the devil's spawn, still open that youtube link if you like guitar. Liberal/libertarian politics aside, Richard Thompson will change your world view of what the instrument is capable of.Its a classic outlaw tune Hell, its a white boys corrida. 8). What better for this board?
