Those scraps of paper and what she did with them are the most damning acts of this traitor.

There are plenty of reasons to desire her but that urban legend isn't one of them.
I'm not saying Snopes is gospel, but...

I did not serve in Vietnam but had many friends that did.  Almost to a man they blame her for the deaths of soldiers.  They said that some guys were so disheartened by her actions that they could not get their head into their jobs anymore and made fatal errors/mistakes because of it.

If she spontaneously combusted tomorrow it would be a day too late.

She should have been executed. She's a traitor and a liar.

I used to trust Snopes a lot more than I do now. They are hardened, flaming liberals over there. They blew it with a lot of the birther stuff on Hussein that was all but proven to be crap. They will always give a liberal a wide birth when it comes to any accusation. Plus, I've never heard Fonda deny that. I'm not saying she didn't, but I've never heard it.   Bill T.

Well, looks like the "scraps of paper" incident IS an urban legend and it was not her greatest act of betrayal.

There are many links besides Snoopes that maintain this story is false, some claiming to have heard from the POWs who were named in this incident and those who actually met with Fonda at the Hilton and they said the story is phoney.

It's pretty impossible to prove you didn't do something but until I see a well documented proof of this event, I'll removed it from her list of offenses.

I guess she doesn't have to commit suicide over this  either...unless she really wants to.

Put yourself in Fonda's position. She has been trying unsuccessfully to live this down for over 4 decades. We've all done stupid things we regret. But because we all live under the radar and are not in the public eye, it all goes away with age and time. This has tracked her like she's been carrying an electronic device. She cannot escape it. Try to imagine over the last 40+ years how many times this has come up to haunt her? At restaurants, parties, social gatherings, public appearances. Name it, and she's had it put right in her face, time and time again. She's a victim of her own popularity.

Sure, she's lived an affluent lifestyle because of her own wealth, along with the all but countless men she's been married to. But it has had to have been a living nightmare for her, as well as it should be. Had she never did this, she would be just another Hollywood actress who wasn't half bad looking in her day. Now she's forever branded, much like Casey Anthony will be. I have to admit, she's held up well. Many have committed suicide for a hell of a lot less. Money can only buy you a fancier prison to hide out in. Just ask Pablo Escobar.......If he was alive.    Bill T.

You miss the point Bill, She is a self proclaimed communist, She actually said in an interview, (Think this through carefully ) "I get down on my knees every night and pray for America to adopt communism".
In her warped view she is the good guy and we are all evil reactionary class enemies.
She has also spent that 40 years being coddled and adored by her fellow useful fools on the left.
Pablo was just a hoodlum who excelled in his chosen field, which was not dealing cocaine, it was shaking down people who dealt cocaine, his only real contribution was not killing people who kicked up to him.

Her own political viewpoint doesn't change the way others around her think, or treat her. Just a few years ago she was refused service at a restaurant, and told to leave. I don't care what your political persuasion is, that kind of treatment isn't going to make anyone feel good. Especially when it takes place over a 40 year time span. No, her hell is right here, and she is her own devil. Hell, even Ted Turner couldn't live with her!   Bill T.

I heard the restaurant story was also urban legend.

I did some searches to see if I could find it officially, but could not.

Maybe the most unbelievable part of the story is that she would stoop to dinning in an establishment that could be run by a Vet.
