Well it seems that some obscure Texas laws will allow it if you manage to find the right set of circumstances.

The only reason he could do this is because the owner ran out and the mortgage co. went out of business. I can almost garauntee that an "investor" is searching out the "paper" on the house, and the Sheriff will be evicting before the three years is up. Quite honestly, I hope he pulls it off, but the news story will probably be his undoing.
Children, pets, and slaves are taken care of. Free Men take care of themselves.
