Sick Marine
« on: July 20, 2011, 07:05:04 PM »
Guys, for those that are so inclined, a US Marine who is the son of a local minister needs some heavy duty prayer.

His name is Josh Evers and he has been a US Marine for at least 12 years and has been deployed on a heavy rotation in and out of Afghanistan since the war began. His unit has been securing an area that was designated to be a NATO base (occupied by Spanish troops) while the road was being built to access the area. After the road was completed and the base was established, his unit was getting ready to pull out and he suddenly fell ill. They thought it was food poisoning, but later determined (at the NATO base infirmary/hospital) that it was an intestinal blockage.
Well, here's the rub.... His unit pulled out as directed, but due to his severe condition, they had to leave Josh behind at the NATO base hospital with limited staff and only one or two English-speaking folks. Also, the Air Force won't/can't send in a medical chopper due to red tape revolving around orders. He needs to get to Germany, or somewhere they can do surgery, and it seems no one can go get him.

The family is in an emotional spiral because they can't speak to anyone or find out anything about his condition.

So, basically there is a lone US Marine, sick somewhere in Afghanistan, and he needs prayers.

Thanks,

Peg

Prayers aloft.

Get the lad's Kongress Kritter involved, and have them get that boy to Germany!

Prayers are sent Chuck with the promise that we will not leave anyone behind.

to quote Lt Col. Hal Moore..."I will be the first to set foot on the field, and I will be the last to step off, and I will leave no one behind. Dead or alive, we will all come home together. So help me, God!"

God Bless!

What's his rank and Unit, I got some ears I can put bugs in.
Include links to any news stories about him that I can include in my letter.
We didn't leave ANYBODY behind on purpose in the "old Corps".

Tom, our preacher didn't tell us the rank or unit, just the name and that he was the son of another local area minister. I spoke with him after church this evening and asked if the family was getting our US Senators involved. He said that was the first thing on the list in the AM. One of our Senators, Chambliss, is on the Senate Armed Forces Committee and has an office in our town, so maybe he can grease some wheels.
